I recorded what happened at midnight of new year's eve. edited it a bit and here we are Very Happy

of course the main character is my son Jarik Exclamation

Funny, this is a nice recording of course, but I had expected Italian fireworks to be a bit more ... expressive ... spectacular ... dangerous even. Especially after the soccer related outbursts that were to be heard in my city last year Very Happy

you know Jan, I did not venture outside that night so I just recorded what I could from the windowsill of my kitchen Wink

I recorded for half an hour and concentrated the salient parts down to a minute and a half with my son Jarik saying things like: "look dad" and wanting to explode his fireworks on the garden of the neighbour, downstairs Laughing

while assembling the piece I made sure to leave enough "sonic room" for Jarik's words to be comprehensible (for me, at least) hoping to be able to let the listener feel his excitement besides the language barrier.

Very nice! I really enjoy the "cozy-ness" of the room.. The nice thing about your track is that it really has the same potential as a photograph, listening to it over a few years time will give great nostalgic value to the recording! Incomparable to composed, improvised or generated music..

I don´t understand italian, but I can sympathize with taking out the neighboors garden.

Sounds a bit like New Year's Eve in Florida, but fireworks are illegal so they use guns. One can celebrate the New Year and take out a pesky neighbor at the same time. Wink

What a jolt! And... quite a workout for the speakers.

Well... M80 type explosives are outlawed here in Missouri.

However... dry ice and water in a large plastic coke bottle does wonders. Very Happy

Yep, pretty easy to tell the sound of an illegal explosive:

It an explosion's reverb time is 8 seconds when everything else has no reverb, it is most likely illegal.
