AtmoWorks is testing their live webstreaming tonight with a couple hours of tracks from various live albums. Here's the mailing they sent out:

Quote:
As a precurser to the upcoming live performance by James Johnson and Vir Unis on AtmoStreams, we'll be putting our live system through a test tonight at 8PM US Central Standard time and running for approx 2 hours.

Vir Unis hosts tonight's broadcast and will be playing tracks from various AtmoWorks releases that feature "Live Recordings"

the playlist will include selected tracks from:

Vir Unis - Live at Lakeview Planetarium
Vir Unis & Interstitial - Live at the Miramar
Vir Unis - Live at Gathering 23
Vir Unis & James Johnson - Live Transmissions vol. 1

To listen to this live stream simply go to http://www.atmoworks.com and click on the "AtmoStreams" text in the upper left of the screen

It's on now.

This is a test for upcoming live from the studio concerts:

James Johnson & Vir Unis - Live from The Bubble Studios (April 4th 2004)
Saul Stokes - Live from his Oakland California Studio (May 2004)

And I might do one over the summer.

I listened in for 90 minutes last night. No hiccups at all with the webstream (note - I'm on dsl) and some nice stuff played. Purpose was for John to test the streaming from his studio for the live gig coming up April 4th. John and James do some very fun stuff if you haven't heard them play.

I listened as well. Sounded great. They are some of my favorite ambient artists.

Hope you don't mind - but I forwarded your nice comment on to John (Vir Unis)...

John and James are both great people.

I heard them perform at one of the Philadelphia Gatherings a couple of years ago. They were very good. Maybe they'd enjoy hanging around here. They'd be with like minds, and they'd already be liked. Shocked

JKN thanks for the forward.
Being in Tenn. I wasn't able to get up to Philly to see them at the Gathering, but I did record their live performance on Stars End. I have listened to it many times, and have been inspired greatly by them.

In my opinion, that's about the highest compliment one can give another artist.

John will be playing cd's live from his studio again. Another test of their webstreaming. Here's the email they sent out:

Quote:
"Tonight Vir Unis will be spinning live from the bubble studios again. The
test broadcast last Sunday, which kicked off our new phase for AtmoWorks'
radio, entitled AtmoStreams, was a success! Many thanks to those listeners
that logged in last Sunday night to hear AtmoWorks' albums featuring live
recordings.

Tonight's broadcast will be an artist spotlight on both Vir Unis and James
Johnson's solo efforts as well as their collaborative works. Both of these
artists will be performing live from Vir Unis' bubble studio next Sunday,
April 4th for AtmoStream's first live concert. In addition, Saul Stokes
will be performing live from his studio for AtmoStreams in May. Tune into
tonight to hear Vir Unis talking about AtmoStreams as well as spinning such
albums like Book of Mutations, Echoes, Environment-1, Mercury & Plastic,
Symbology, Perimeter, and many others."

Thanks for your continued support of AtmoWorks.com and the artists whose
releases we represent. Looking forward to an exciting 2004!
