Variation sequencing ? |

I would like to chain variation with a sequencer or LFO. Do you know if it's possible ? |

Thanks !
The G2 is amazing...
Edit : Wow ! Changing value during Var Seq make crazy sequences, especialy if you change LFO value. Really great. |

yup. it is pretty fun have you played around with RedMonday_DZ.prf2 or BCHydro_DZ.prf2?
I like to do this with my hands hitting the buttons as I like to improvise often, (too bad there is no sequencer combined with am 8 switch out there to make variation adjustments in realtime just a little bit quicker).
Once you get good at it, it is a lot of fun to tweak this way.

Even from within the editor this is fun (using the number keys). _________________ Jan

yeah, totally!!!
but not the same as with the panel. I like the spacing and feel of the g2 panel variation buttons, also they light up so you always look at the keys and see the selected variation to boot.

I know.
I have set up my pc1600 as a variation switcher (8 buttons which send different cc70 x 2) in addition to the panel (for switching variations on multiple slots at once).

Any ideas how I can trigger Var. 2 by an event in Var. 1, then trigger Var. 3 by an event in Var. 2? Both the machine and I are going nuts trying to solve this _________________ Fish don't swim. They dive. |

I'll have a try this evening when noone else was sooner. An event is a logic signal going from false to true? Are the events from different modules in the different variations, or do they come from one module? _________________ Jan

Jan, I thought of a sequencer in Var.1 whose link output links to the same sequencer in Var. 2, then 3... Sort of like 8 sequencers in a row but each in a different Variation.
Everything I tried goes berserk because it changes the CC70 output immediately. I knew I'd run into trouble because I remembered this post:

Ah well, Rob obviously was in a bad mood at the time I would like to have a button though to block and unblock variation changes.
Do you have an example patch Sebastian? It's not directly clear to me what you mean, an illustration might be helpful. _________________ Jan

Sebber, I use s/h modules driven by a clock so variation changes occur at well defined (rhythmically) times. See BCHydro_DZ or RedMonday_DZ in the factory soundset. If you turn the variation seq switch off (slot A, page A-1, knob 1), then you can try this out with the other 3 knobs (which change the variations in slots B,C,D respectively), but only on the downbeat.
I'm not sure what you mean by the sequencer control in the other slots as you describe, can you elaborate?

Ja(aaan), that's it. Exactly. And I wouldn't have come to it by myself like using the S-flipflop. I just replaced it with the pulse module like I had it and mayhem again. Is the S-flipflops Q-output impuls simply much shorter than the shortest pulse outputs pulse
Dasz, I always like to listen to Monday and Hydro, they are great. What I needed though is not a preprogrammed pattern but a Variation change trigger from "within" a variation.
Thanks a lot both of you! _________________ Fish don't swim. They dive. |

It gets reset at the moment the new variation starts (see wire on reset input), I needed that to make it work. _________________ Jan
