it's all about the hardware imho
i prefer my patches to be hands on. it's nice putting the noodles on and enjoying them whilst making a cup of tea (or whilst intending to make a cup of tea whilst you're really just staring at the performance on the screen...) but i prefer my own stuff to have human interaction, mainly because i'm "expected" to play live these days and that means looking [surely being?] busy on stage... _________________ there's no I in TEAM, so let's all act as individuals instead |

the nicest part on the g2 are actually the variation buttons...
when you have the chance to use a midicontroler that has adressable buttons you should use 8 of them for variatinon changing... something like a cheap behringer bcr can create a pretty decend g2 feel when you program it wright.. adressing of parameters in not so comfortable thou :-/ |

ah yes, i did this. adressing of parameters is actually quite easy. of course probably not as quick as on a G2 itself. but still, it's not much effort.
i have a question though, i'm to lazy to search for in the manual properly.
if you have a performance with say 4 patches... most of the time you want to change variations globaly for all 4 patches. changing variations per patch individualy is not a problem, but changing them for all 4 at the same time was. i found a simple way around with some midi routing in my sequencer, but i wonderd if their exist a simple way to do this? (on the G2 and subsequent via my BCR)?
also, i think it would've been cool in my case if the 8 morph knobs would've been hardwired to a midi CC#.
Nice Performance Stanley, i wished there was a short mp3 with the other external gear. ah but i just see that's the plan |

you can do it on the G2 simply by setting the keyboard to global, so i imagine if there's a way you can change variation via the BCR you should be able to change them if the G2 is set up properly. _________________ there's no I in TEAM, so let's all act as individuals instead |

You can also have one MIDI CC (or whatever) trigger 4 MIDI CC's in one slot...which then transmits the appropriate slot changes to the other slots at the same time. |
