Hi.

Have you got a PC (or Mac) handy?

There are a couple of ways to do it but all of them would require at least a bit more hardware.

If you want to stay on a hardware based sequencer such as the MMT-8 or MPC, consider a midi merger, which is a box that will merge the midi outs of each keyboard back into one stream.

Alternatively, you could get a PC/Mac based midi interface, perhaps along the lines of something like this device, and use a software sequencer, of which there are many good ones for whichever platform/OS you want.

Either way, what you are asking for ultimately requires merging the midi outputs of each of your keyboards.

i would like to stay away from becoming dependant on my mac since it wont be leaving the house (per the bosses orders!).
so a midi merger..set each board to a different channel...cool i get that concept
now would a mc-909 or mmt-8 capture what was being played on each board?
this is where i am confused...i dont want to have to multitrack or step sequence, i want whatever device it is i am looking for to be able to capture my performances and loop it.........
does it exist?

I don't know if the MMT-8 can capture multichannel, I think it can. I know there are hardware sequencers that do, but check the manual.
