how to build the community :: by supplying the forum with as many creative ppl as can be had. the forum is a place where many ppl & anyone who would want to be involved with a place that promotes cutting-edge/experimental ideas in music.
What should be on the site :: artwork,... exotic music,....radically fresh ideas in discussion.
how to pay for it :: instituting a mandatory 2$ union fee a year,.. i dont at all have a problem with that.
pay the artists :: well the showcase should display the freshest skills in music then perhaps exacting a 2 - 5 $ fee for buying (adding to cart) one of many select clips between 5 - 20 minutes in length that are purchased
maybe theres room to negotiate a salary? i'm always hopeful....
what is the role of contributing editor :: be as complex as you can... plz?

There's money in this? Damn. Nobody told me. Laughing

I think Howard's more in need of funds to keep the site running. And besides, it's not the point. Nobody's making money from this site.

Everything you suggest, can be here, if you can go beyond the "it's all mine, you can't have it" culture and see that ideas aren't necessarily proprietary.

I publish my music with the CC Restricted license. I also copyright my stuff. If you look at the schematics on DIY, you can see they all copyright their stuff.

What's the point? A good question, and I'd love some help explaining it. We're interested in electronic and electro acoustic music. It includes performance, recording, and noodling (scratch mixes). Most of my experiments are scratch mixes, for example. Others here are interested primarily in circuit design. Some are into performance. Some are into patches.

The common point is we wish to share ideas. It's a lot less lonely that way.

Thanks for the suggestions. I think you are spot on. The more diversity the better. We have been thinking of subscriptions and a lot of other things. In the not too distant future, I'll write an editorial about this. In the meantime, keep those ideas coming.

Lol, what you're not allowed to do should be disabled .. well .. mostly so Very Happy

So please write up something, if it will be in the articles section is a matter of quality, mosc is the chief editor so it's up to him to decide, buts it's not your posts count that counts.

You could post something in an appropriate corner for a starter, like in Schmooze maybe, or whatever forum you think the subject will fit in.

Looking forward to reading you !
