Nice one, Ian.
Wow, what a difference in sound quality from the G2 and the mp3 file! |

Um, yes I updated the pch2. You know how it is, I uploaded the patch and mp3 then listened for a while. Just can't resist fiddling with it.
Normally I would not replace what I had already uploaded but this was a significant improvement (and being on GMT+12, I post when most people are in bed). I think maybe one or two people had downloaded the old version.
Some level reduction in the Slot C sounds but mainly the structure has been changed by introducing a second slower variation. Again, this change is made when slot A decides it is time. The mp3 is similar to the 'allegro' section so I have not replaced it.
I also find it difficult to choose which 60 seconds. Listening to a 'live' noodle is so different, so many unexpected surprises and subtle variations.
What we need is a noodle CD compilation =) |

A Noodle compilation would be nice to join in and to listen to,
what is missing is the compiler
Nice noodle, Ian

Yes, a volunteer to create the compilation, and everyone’s permission. Could the GNU public licence apply to patches? Great name for a record label though ‘GNU MUSIC’.
I also forgot to give credit to Howard, the patch in slot C uses his simple cross modulation concept described elsewhere. It is capable of a huge range of interesting sounds. I could have had some random lfo’s adjusting some things but I think it is best explored manually. Some of the effects exist only within a very narrow range of settings. I saved each ‘discovery’ into its own variation. Even with nothing but variation switching, some change character depending on which variation was selected before. Sometimes a nice chorus of bullfrogs, other times a demented tenor having an appendectomy without anaesthetic.

I think the permission would not be the problem.
Every noodle creator would like to be released or am I wrong?
I think i would be difficult to record the noodles, I sometime
record 10 minutes of noodle and still I am missing a lot of random variations i have heard before. Every Noodleist would have to make his own recording,
so he would be responsible for the choice. I remember some Ideas about a noodle compilation on the newslist, but nothing happend finally.
I could even imagine a double CD or vinyl, one dark and one chilly side of the noodles.
The GNU records is a nice name idea!
Dreaming about noodle soup
Best

There is an alternative to copyright, it is a lisence by Creative Commons. This is quite nice in that is provides some right to copy the music, but with restrictions - like you must not use the music for commercial purposes or for profit, you must always post the author when you post the music, etc. See:

Hadn't listened to the patch uip to now, but now I do it will be on for a while.
It is hard to select indeed, this noodle has a lot of variiation. I guess an mp3 compilation DVD would be needed, a simple CD is just barely enough for one noodle of this kind :-)
Nice one !
