Beautifully crafted, huge dynamic range, I like it a lot.
Cant listen to your previous post however because I don't have an expanded G2.

Thank you for the kind words.

The more I do with the G2 the more I think it's amazing, think it will be the ultimate cult machine from our era maybe.

One can make it do the weirdest things imaginable ... we're just scratching the surface right now, and everthing isn't even working perfectly yet ... phew ...

Some day you really should get yourself an expansion Ian, you will be able to make it do beautifull things for you (and us) !

Well, yes on all that about the G2, but there is something of a downside. The performances can get very complicated and it becomes very hard to figure out what is going on behind the curtain, so to speak. This is especially true when MIDI CCs are routed between slots. Not that this is bad, but it becomes a great deal of work to keep things straight.

Let me start saying that I'm not very disciplined usually, and having said that :

What I try to do sometimes when loosing track is coloring the modules, like yellow for inputs (either audio or reacting on a MIDI CC), purple for outputs (either audio or MIDI) and green/blue for human interface.

Modules or morphs listening to CCs can be labeled with a CC xx mark, sometimes I prefix those with the channel id where the CCs are (supposed to be) generated.

Another thing I try to remember all the time is to use ranges of MIDI CC's for certain purposes, like CC20 .. 29 for intra-slot, 30..39 for inter-slot.

Things are not so hard when working on the patches in one go, trouble starts only when later trying to understand patches/performances again.

It's a bit like programming for computers, clues (comments) should be used in the code/patches. But just as with programming for computers its hard to remember doing it while working on it ...

Anyway, I'm trying to figure out a system along the lines sketched above and trying to keep myself to that system, eventually I'll end up with something useful and workable I hope.

Jan.
