Hello!
After over 2 months looking for components for the SNVoice I have everything except R49 (110K) and C5 (470pF poly or mylar). Well I found a cap but it was 630V and would have been the biggest component after the SN76477 wide chip and would have stuck out like a sore thumb!
I know that adding 10K to 100k = 110K, but I would like a single resistor if possible. Jameco has them but I don't want 100 unit of each component!
I wonder if there would be a fellow forum member who would have 1 of each of these components and kindly send them to me (I don't mean free)?
Another thing: I have a circuit schematic that I would like to stripboard since the PCB isn't available. I also have the parts placement for the original PCB as well as a pic of the copper side of a populated board for the same circuit. Could someone help me with this stripboard design (or suggest a suitable software for dummies to acomplish this)? One of the problems is that the version of the program I'm using doesn't allow me to save what I do and have had to restart from zero a few times!
Thanks!

You can use a 100K without any ill effect so I would not worry about that. It sets up the degenerative feedback on the the ENV attenuator buffer/amplifier and the gain will change only a minimal amount . Also, a 470 pF ceramic disk capacitor will also work in place of the mylar unit at the C5 location since that only sets the frequency of the noise clock and is not that critical. If you really want to go with the original parts, I can send them to you if you like. Just send me your address in a PM.

Paia Chrismas Gift |
|
|
Hello!
I really don't know where to post this so may the moderators decide...I believe there should be some kind of Bulletin Board where everybody could read informstion directed to everybody.
Paia has posted a christmas gift which is nothing to kill about, but in the end, a gift is a gift, however those interested in ribbon Controllers should take a look at it... the text has been posted a few responses below because the link went to my mailbox and a little privacy is not bad after all... so the original text to obtain this free is 6 posts further down.
if you don't mind paying $0.50 for a project that includes a few components (only USA) or a little cardboard circuit board out of the US, go here:
http://www.paia.com/bckit1
I already sent my envelope for one...
By the way I posted something about Stockhausen that I also think you should all read at:
http://electro-music.com/forum/viewtopic.php?highlight=stockhausen&t=22507
Bulletin Board wouldn't be a bad idea...
Thanks!

Alf,
+ I shortened you link but erm, it doesn't work as your session expired ...
+ in http://electro-music.com/forum/topic-22512.html I started a new discussion on bulletin boards based on the remark you made in you KH Stockhausen article. _________________ Jan

In the stockhausen thread or the Paia thread?

Hello!
I got it...
The text is the following:
All,
We recently finished a small project for education (part of our
charter). It's a funny little low-cost kit: a simple oscillator
project that can be twisted together by hand.
Here's a link to some project pages we made:
http://www.paia.com/bckit1
Music technology hidden in a squealing, hand-made thing. Kids who've
built it enjoy the screeching sound. An Assistant Professor out in Los
Angeles used it to teach transistor theory. There are a bunch of
experiments on the web site that we suggest folks try.
All of it old hat for our friends, but we thought you'd like to see
some of what we've been doing. Maybe someone in your house would like
to twist one up?
If you'd like one, we'll send it to you for free (see below). If
you've got a couple of someones, mention that and we'll send a couple
to you.
Happy holidays from your friends at PAiA: Scott, The Simonton Family,
Brad, Chuck, Stephanie and Jane.
Free kit how-to:
Send a self-addressed, stamped envelope to:
2201 N. Lamar, Ste 200, Austin TX 78705. USA.
Make a note on the back of the SASE that says "Free Kit - Fan Club" If
you're overseas, we'll send back several cards but no parts (they're
simple junk-box parts) so we can avoid customs paperwork.

A little update regarding the Paia Christmas Gift |
|
|
If anybody from out of USA is interested read on... the e-mail he refers to follows the first one...
By the way, although it is not mentioned in the original e-mail the group is PAiASynth@yahoogroups.com.

I groaned and then laughed when I saw Tronato's note.
At least for this group, we'll just provide the international return
postage (USD $0.90) and no worries. My first impulse is to ask people to
just send anything they like in lieu of postage: a photograph, a
handbill from local music, any sort of trivial local "found treasure"
perhaps.
Any kit request we get that mentions this e-mail group is going to get
special handling, SASE or not.
