Wanted: Nord 8 Voice Expansion board Subject description: help? |
|
|
Hello,
I'm new to the forum.
wanted: a Clavia Nord 8 voice expansion board w/ PCMCIA slot
compatible with the Nord Lead 1 (I have the rack version, but I think it will work with the either rack or keyed synth).
Please PM if you have one available or any info as to where I might purchase one. |

Thank you.
However, I mostly wanted the expansion card to increase polyphony. |

Maybe in this forum there will be more readers who can possible help you.
At the other hand, the 4 voice limitation is also daring!
Allthough, using Unison leads to only 2 voices and that's really almost nothing
I would suggest to write and to phone every dealer you know. On the second hand market I can't imagine somebody would like to strip down his/her NL1...

Hi
I'm also new to the forum...just managed to get the expansion board for the Nord Lead One but don't have any instructions about fitting it.
Anything to be wary of?
Any links to download any info? Tried searching the web but no luck!
Thanks for any help! |

It's not that difficult.
Only the flat cable has to go underneat the board, so be sure it isn't folded in any way!!!

If you have a Expansion to sell, I also received on other forums requests about this...
Funny, the NordLead suddenly comes alive on this forum...

Thanks for the quick reply, I'll be happy fitting the board now!
I agree...there's a lot of interest in the Nord Lead One at the moment.
For me it's a simple synth for live use...possibly easier than the Lead 2, 2x and 3 to navigate in terms of patches as I only need a handful of sounds. Works really well with the Electro too and the creative potential of both keyboards together is huge...very compact setup for gigging too...changed my life! I can actually take a train into London rather than driving |

Hi there, I want to expand my lovely Nord Lead 1 to 12 voices.
I know the people at memorix elektronik in Germany sell a PCMCIA SRAM expansion card but I'm not sure if this will increase the polyphony or just add more storage - can you advise?
Many thanks

To use the memory cards you´ll have to install the card reader into the NordLead1, which also holds the DSP´s which updates the synth from 4 to 12 Voices. You´ll have to find this board first, only second hand availability The PCMIA card only gives a larger memory, but has to be used with the reader.

Many thanks for that Wout.
I have the opportunity to but a Nord Lead 1 for £300 but not sure I could live with only having 4 note polyphony.
I could probably get a Jp8000 or AN1x for a similar price ( 8 and 10 note polyphony I think) unless someone can convince me to go for the Nord Lead 1.
It will basicly be the only synth in my studio, the rest will be soft synths like the MiniMoog, FM8 etc. |

Hi. Thanks for your reply.
Wow. that's expensive .
Surely that's just Clavia trying to make some money though...
I read through this thread and i saw back in 2008 there were a few people with them to sell. So just hoping there may still be a few people out there who could help. |

Nord Lead 1 Expansion Subject description: 8-voice Expansion board for Nord 1 synth |

Hi all,
I know this thread is perhaps not the most recent but if anyone should be selling (or know of anyone selling) the 8 voice expansion for the NL1 I'd be grateful for a PM... I know this is unlikely as they're rare and usually fitted already but it can't hurt to try. Many thanks people and all the best in your musical endeavours |

Clavia referred me to their dealer here in Australia ... who have treated me with a stoney silence...
Where else can I hunt one of these down? |
