This is what can be found using the keyboard... |
|
|
Attached are three *.wav files (zipped), the first two (a+b) make steps as large as an octave, the third one shows the usability of top of the range.
The test was made using Osc2, set in Saw wave form, because Osc1 only reacts to the keyboard.
The results are compared to the NordModularG2X, using my ears, which aren't the best to be found, btw. You can always try to find out the results using your own ears.
Higher notes are audible, but a lot of strange things happen. I'm not the expert on these things, maybe Jan can explain something here (aliasing?).
In notes the NordLead2 has a range of 0.375 Hz to 7 kHz, which doesn't mean there aren't any higher frequencies in the sound, but I can't detect it...
The third file is the top of the range.

Glad to help
But...
"What are you going to do with the information?" he asked out of curiosity...

Oh, hah. I needed to know the hZ because:
I always come to this forum and complain about sound quality problems on the 2x; because everyone says it sounds awesome, but mine sounds not so good.
I thought about it, and wondered if it was the amplifier I use, cause its only for low frequency bass and guitar.
It turns out my amp is ruining my keyboard sounds, so I needed to find an amp that can handle the min/max HZ frequency the nord puts out. |

Well, you don't have to know what the frequency range is then
The sound is as bad as the worst link in the chain, isn't it?
First of all, take a good headphone, plug it in the headphone Output of the Lead and listen to the sound.
Then take your synth and the headphone to the store and try all the amps in your financial range and buy the one you like the most.
To be honest, figures don't mean a thing when it comes to sound perception. Use your ears (and the ones of others, so don't go on your own)
Most headphones produce a rather well sound to be used as control.
A guitar amp surely isn't the thing to use
I use small PA boxes, which do a rather good job.

PS never mind I made that file, because I needed to know it anyway |
