An ominous sci-fi piece I created with DreamStation Synth and Cakewalk Sonar. I hope most of you have Winamp (or something else that will play Ogg - I like to support open formats when possible). I do also have the wma format available at the site in my signature if you prefer that.

Hi Jan,

Thanks for the feedback and the welcome sign Very Happy

In my case, it appears that I do require Winamp (or something beyond just Firefox) to play ogg. I was racking my brain as to what might account for the difference, and then it hit me that you're probably running Linux (which I understand has built-in support for Ogg), whereas I'm still in the Windows world.

I'm using Windows as well .. don't know why it plays ogg in the browser though but mp3 in winamp ... I had quicktime installed and after that the quicktime alternative but those didn't work properly for me (under vista) and so I de-installed .. now the extension binding is a bit messy ...

Hmmm ... Well, then I guess I'm scratching my head as to why it works that way for you and not me I'm running XP, but I would not think that would account for it. Everything I can find on the web seems to indicate that a plugin is required for Vista or XP, so I'd guess that maybe you have one (or that I just haven't been reading in the right places). Anyway, at least we can each play Ogg in our own way Smile

Yes, extension binding can be a mess - I have a vague recollection of having battled through some problems with that.
