I've been experimenting with random step generators which produce a new note on each clock. Earlier ideas implemented a bounds check and limit so the note sequence wouldn't wander into the very low or high range and stay there.
This produced some undesired/unnatural effects at the boundaries.
This solution is more gentle, and skews the probability that the next step is up or down proportional to how far from center the current note is. The circuit is in blue in the VA of slot A

Interesting circuit, it seems to give a nice tension when the algorithm goes uphill.

Wonderful patch, it sounds so so good..

I enjoy serial music a lot and the melodic part serves as a great generator. I still have a hard time figuring the patch out, how the pad seems to follow the melodic gestures, is that just me, or was it intended that way? The more I listen the more questions come up, great stuff!
I still have a long way to go with my patches, you are a great inspiration.

Thanks

The pad takes 50% of every 5th gate from the melody and just plays whatever note value is present at the time.
See the three modules in the last column of slot A VA.

cheers
