Here are views of all the electronics that will go into the keyboard. The components are:

IKC Integrated Key Board Controller
MCC MIDI Display Board
Switching Power Supply
Fatar to IKC Adapter Board (Final Board will be smaller)
Keyboard
Cables

I am designing a front panel now for my keyboard. Then it's on to drafting an enclosure.

have you already measured the current consumption on each rail?

i wonder if you could not use a ribbon cable connector on the adapter board (or even two, if you have to twist some parts of the ribbon cable). would make thinks a lot easier, i think.

however, great to see the boards. you can be really proud of that.
i wished i could do things like this, but all this programming and digital stuff is way beyond me.

oh, BTW what about the MIDI selector. is this a 3rd party building block?

I've had a look at the documentation for this project - breathtakingly complete, I must say!

Hi Fonik,

Yes, 180 MA is consumed from the +15V rail and much less, about 40 MA from the -15V rail. The CPLD dissipates most of the power.

Thanks Fonik .... like anything, you do it long enough, you start to dream about this stuff .... Very Happy

That's mine also. It can also be used as a general purpose MIDI selector in any project really, not just the IKC. It take 5 volts, a momentary push button input, displays 1 thru 16 on a nice 2 digit blue display representing your MIDI channels, and has 4 TTL level MIDI address bit outputs for MIDI selection in your project. It uses positive logic. For example MIDI channel 1 = "0000", 2="0001", 3="0010" and so on ......... 16="1111" ...... Simple but useful. Cool

Well fellas, the topic has split off into this thread that you can get to below.

The IKC can now be build by any member as detailed in my post. Dan Lavin and Myself hope many of you take advantage of this project.

BUILD YOUR SELF A COMBINED "DIY" ANALOG CV AND MIDI CONTROLLER KEYBOARD WITH UP TO 5 OCTAVES .....

http://electro-music.com/forum/topic-29746.html

Thanks to anyone waiting for the project to get released ........
