Clavia/Nord increased the memory size from 128 to 256 Mb (plus a few cosmetic changes).
Anyone know if it is possible to upgrade the memory size on previous revisions of this instruments?

I got a NS88 revision C last May. It's vintage already. That's what I like about hardware instruments Evil or Very Mad

You can still use al the sounds, only not upload all the instruments into the Stage... It isn't worthless Smile

I know that but I would expect that a 6 months old instrument should be upgradable.

this is the reply I got from Clavia to my question about upgradability of NS88 "classic" to EX Crying or Very sad

Tomas Johansson wrote:
Hi

The memory of the 'classic' 128 MB Nord Stage cannot be upgraded to 256 MB. To accommodate the larger memory of the Stage EX, the internal hardware had to be redesigned, making it incompatible with the classic Stage. This also involves a major change of the "bios" on the Stage EX main board. Every attempt was made to make the Stage 'classic' upgradeable, however due to its design it is technically not feasible.

Best regards,
Tomas Johansson
