Just kidding I really liked the Art center that place was a blast. The jam room was really quite the spot, a giant art room lined with picture windows, and its wooden floors really carried the sound great. Plus sitting out in the front of the building smoking, listening to both the passing cars and the music, was really quite a spiritual experience for me. So, really my vote goes to the art center, but I'd say that Chicago would be the "locale" of choice since E.M. might see a host of fine musicians it otherwise would never see.

So, I say we move the Cheltenham art center to, say, the middle of the Chicago botanical gardens via "wide load" trucks, or airlift it piece by piece with monster planes, or get it to simply fly itself there like that wierd cartoon with the flying house. Sound good to everyone? Cool.

Yeah, I'm voting for Philly or someplace in the northeast area 'cause I'd love to go for the first time. Now that can actually play a keyboard and use REASON...

I haven't kept up for awhile. I wonder what the latest developments are, if any.

It's not too late to sign up! I jumped in a few hours before last year, no disasters. Welcome back.

We are going to check out a place in NJ on Thursday.
I'll report back after that.
We're still open for suggestions, as it seems nearly impossible to find a place that meets our needs and is also reasonable in cost.

We are continuing the search. I will visit another place on Wednesday.
It seems that the most likely time frame will be in the fall.

Yes, this place looks like it will work. It is in Bloomingdale, NJ.
We are trying to settle the dates, right now it looks like September or October.

Being a school teacher, I would not be able to attend in the fall. It would be the first electro-music I would miss.

Mark,
You could request a leave of absence,or catch an electro-flu.

We're not accepting applications to participate yet, but you can get on the mailing list to be notified when we make the announcement.
Just drop us an email at event@electro-music.com
If you have attended a previous electro-music festival, then you should already be on the list.

Wonderful Greg! Star Lake looks like a great place. The pictures of the place look fabulous. That room looks HUGE! I like it. I also like the natural outdoors setting ... looks surrounded by trees. Halloween! Twisted Evil

FWIW, I'm a member of a (mostly) acoustic-music club called The Folk Project, which has weekend festivals twice a year. We held our most recent festival at this site and I thought it worked out very well. Our next festival there will be in April, and if you will permit a plug from a musical non-profit organization, you can learn more about it here.

If you just want to look at some more photos of the site, you can go here.

Yes, it is great that people can actually stay in the same building as the music events. There is room for 44 guests in the commons. These will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis once the announcement is made. Also 32 people can stay in each of the 3 cabins (although the rooms are shared by 7-8 people). Another plus is that there are no restrictions on the hours, so we can have concerts and jams going as long as we like.
There are only three main rooms (dining, assembly, and lounge), compared to the four we have used in the past, which means that seminars and jams will have to share the lounge.

This is beautiful. My hat off to all the hard work. Much respect to you Greg, and of course who ever has been working with you on this. The pictures look fantastic ; and those assembly areas ... wow! ...

So how many watts do we need to shake the paint off the walls ? Wink

Thanks again !

Very cool - a scenic location, and less than an hour from my home. I definitely want to perform this year.
