Arpeggiator and percussion sounds in Nordlead 2x |
|
|
How can I produce percussion sounds in the Nordlead 2x? Can I use the arpeggiator for percussion sounds like in a workstation? |

They don't have to be percussion sounding like, but any sound the NordLead can produce, like storm, rain and sea waves, used as an effect. Quote: | Can I use the arpeggiator for percussion sounds like in a workstation? | Yes, but with limitations. You have to program the Arpeggiator in Percussion mode first, for each sound you like to use with the Arpeggiator.
The first restriction is the Arpeggiator setting of the last playing note will be heard, so if you want to use all eight sounds, they have to have to same parameter settings (Is done by Shift+LFO1 Wave form).
The second restriction is the 'Amount' setting of the Arpeggiator, so it will function as a normal arpeggiator, which means it can sound the octave higher or two higher.... Am I clear?
BTW the Arpeggiator is rather dull as a rhythm provider, but you can silence a Percussion mode sound and use two Percussion files in a Performance using different Rates. I know, it's a puzzle, but some like to do this kind of things.
It is fun and I use it a lot.

To investigate the possibilities of the Arpeggiator in Percussion mode will keep you busy for a couple of weeks...
Using the keys is very unpredictable.
Fun for may hours during a German rainy afternoon
Wout
BTW things like example 4 can be done in a normal Program too! It's the Hold function which is important in this. |

I advice you to use a sequencer to run the Percussion mode, although it is possible do do something in that combination... But is asks hard labor! On stage hardly useable... The NordLead isn't designed as a beat box

I know that, and I think, I will use my Tenori-On as a stepsequenzer for that.
But is it possible to have one slot for the percussion sounds from an external sequenzer which does´nt sound when I touch the keyboard? _________________ Andreas

Of course!
Just don't activate the Percussion Slot (no LED) and it be controlled by Midi. Just take notice this Slot uses also voices! (set all sounds to Mono and no Unison)

Thanks Wout! I am quite happy about that and have now ordered my Nord Lead2X.
I am very grateful for your help and advice. Surely I will come back with more questions in a few days, when I ´ve got my new NL. _________________ Andreas
