NiceCast on MacBook OSX Subject description: Help from anyone running this config |
|
|
Hi, I've been digging into NiceCast. It give a library not found & no image found for IceCast. NiceCast sends its stream to IceCast to broadcast. As far as I can tell, without IceCast I can't get out.
The RogueAmoeba server checker cannot connect in, either.
IceCast claims it needs Darwin Port to install it. Darwin Port 1.7 says it needs Mac OSX 10.5 (I have 10.4).
If anyone can point me at something to get the "dominoes" falling, it would be great. I am good from keyboard to Mac.
Or should I just spring for NiceCast on a Windows XP Asus Eee PC? Or is there something I failed to download from the Amoeba?
???
Cheers,

Nicecast can connect to the electro-music.com server. There is no need to connect to the Icecast server, and you can configure that away.
But you need Nicecast to be able to output Shoutcast. It is likely your installation has failed.
In the Server window you can see Built-In Server, click that to test with. You might need to open out the wing window, there are little buttons near the top to do this with. Assuming that works you then add radio.electro-music.com as a server, server type is Shoutcast, the username is blank, and the port is whatever you were assigned. With broadcast off, you can switch servers, and then you can try to broadcast.
Detailed descriptions of actions and error messages would go a long way to helping you. _________________ Garret: It's so retro.

Connected ok to the stream on my new port. Going to test with actual sound tomorrow.

That is way too neat, lol! Maybe you cleaned up for the photo. Looks like an awesome studio! BTW, see that cabling photo above? That's my studio. I'm a PC ChucKist now, haha. _________________ "Let's make noise for peace." - Kijjaz |

Thank you for the wonderful Winter Stream Event!

WINTERSTREAM09 was a blast!!! Thanks to all that helped make this event possible...including players, engineers, and listeners. It takes all of us to make events like this possible.
It was a great audience of a consistent 20 to 30 listeners from beginning to end. It's wonderful to play for people that appreciate and understand the direction of the music. I look forward to the next one!!!
Thanks! _________________ ElectroCasa |
