I have built several CGS VCOs and I am in constant need to re-set the SPAN trimmer every once in a while.

I am using the SSM chip for greater stability, but the tuning intervals are not always kept, thus am in need to take out the module and play with the SPAN trimmer.

Is it a common issue? Should I take out the SPAN to a multi-turn pot on the front panel?

After adjusting the trimmer put som nail polish on it. To make it stay in the same place. The trimmers have a tendency to shift out of place if you move your synth around or have vibrations in the case..

Just a thought!

Thanks for the tip.

THe issue here is that it is not just a small tune here and there, I am forced to do a good amount of turning the trimmer until I reach satisfactory results, which might indicate that after one or more restarts, something is not getting back to its original state.

Maybe there is a central issue there?
