electro-music 2009 is a community event, run by and paid for by the participants. We ask everyone to help out in some way, if they can. By volunteering, you'll be more involved and find the whole experience more rewarding. Please consider contributing in one or more of the following ways:
Bringing sound equipment: PA speakers, mixers, microphones, cables, etc.
Bringing video equipment: projectors, screens
Bringing stage lights, fog machines
Helping with sound engineering or streaming during the concerts
Helping operate the stage lighting
Helping set up
Working at the registration and merchandise tables
Picking people up at the airport or bus stop
Providing artwork for posters, flyers, programs or T-shirts
Helping to keep the venue clean
Helping with publicity for the event
If you can volunteer for any of these tasks, contact the organizers at:
event@electro-music.com
Thanks! |

Greg,
I'd like to help do some things where I might learn more about setting up sound and light equipment... only problem is I have a bad back & can't life heavy stuff. Does that disqualify me? _________________ The most important gear is the brain behind the instrument. |

I am sure Greg won't mind me helping answer your question.
The answer to your last question would be "Not at all Laura". I had helped with sound at both EM 2006 and 2007 and there was always plenty of people willing to lend a hand if there is any lifting or moving stuff involved. That's the beauty of these festivals. Everyone helps and supports each other.
In doing sound, for example, you could certainly help by helping each act get conneted up to the house mixer, set thier levels, do sound checks, set up the monitor mix, ride faders to avoid clipping during performance, avoid feedback from mic's. Sometimes the performers have special requests involving their mix ... Bottom line, when along side the right person, you can really learn your way around the mixer. This is but one example so don't worry about moving that 100 pound subwoofer, we get the big guys to help with that ....
Hope this helps ...

I will bring a professional sound system (same as I did last year) that will likely be used in one of the performance venues.
There is much that you can help with on the setup that involves no heavy lifting. We will need to run cables, gaff them (tape them to the floor for safety), and patch everything to the mixing console. I will likely be one of the first people to arrive for the setup -- if you can arrive early, there will be time to learn about the mixer and how to adjust levels/eq/fx for the main speakers and the stage monitor(s). _________________ -- Kevin

Ya well as for me it's just a guitar amp (small but LOUD) with a ChucK computer hookup... _________________ "Let's make noise for peace." - Kijjaz |

Like last year... I will be available to help with sound and streaming again. Doubt I will make it early or be able to stay late...but I can do what I can while I'm there. I know Kevin will need a break at some point.
Looking forward to it! _________________ ElectroCasa |

I've pretty much decided to come regardless
So I'd be happy to help out with some stuff at the event like setting up, sound and lights and could also help out with artwork _________________ Jez
