I am getting the andro this week and was wondering if there was a good place to download patches from?

Users share their patches in this forum very seldom I´m afraid. Sad

It's a knob laden synth, make your own patches. Surfing through presets takes more effort and is less fun than making your own patches. And hundreds of presets and downloadable sound banks aren't enough because they are too old? You want people to give you their own recent sounds? Rolling Eyes Requests for sounds should only come from those posting sound banks of their own to share.

You should sell the A6 and get a virus, they have like 1500 presets and lots more to download.

This is a valid opinion of course, but wanted to point out that for the Nord Modular synths patch exchange has been going on on a pretty large scale, and for me it has always been fun to share my patches and to try patches of others. If only it were to learn from others ... now if only I'd have more hours in a day Wink

Anyway, here you can see how the Nord Modular forums are set up with regard to patch sharing, and here you can see how a patch archive is distilled from those forums. I'm not sure how complicated it would be to implement something alike for other synths but it would be thinkable at least when there would be sufficient interest for such a feature.

http://electro-music.com/forum/forum-152.html
still waiting as somebody some time ago offered to put all user patches together in one bank.
wonder where that initiative went?

I mentioned the old date out of surprise that nothing new has surfaced, not to reflect that I thought those banks were inferior.

As for sharing my own banks, I offered to build a website. I'm not really sure what your criticism has to offer.

Maybe we should restart the patch/bank project. I've been away from my synths for a bit but I'll contribute when I have some new patches.

Alesis offers 5 new banks that are decent starters. I also have not found a solid repository for the A6.

yeah its got lots of knobs! great- but not everyone is good at creating their own patches; so this comment is obnoxious. You can learn from other peoples patches, and if youre in a rush for a project and dont have time to explore the synth and start from scratch patch wise- thats where banks become invaluable.

if anyone knows of banks somewhere other than what other people are posting please let me know. i dont see a an editor (ala soundtower) or anything that works with a mac to manage single presets- thats what those links posted above look like.

I agree with bobbybass. I´m sure that most members of this forum agree that the Virus doesn´t sound as great as the A6, so IMHO the comment from elmacaco regarding that synth is not particularly relevant.

Not everybody focus on the synth programming or sound engineer thing, but rather on songwriting and making music. To have a lot of nice presets for a great synth like the A6 is an inspiring way for a musician like me to then actually use the synth in the first place. Then in time I´ll learn more about the synth and maybe offer my own presets for other users.

If it´s a problem to offer banks for free, as I take it be the case for some people, since there are very few presets shared in this forum, why don´t you expert programming guys try to make an extra buck and sell some of your nice presets. I, for one, am willing to pay for them at a reasonable price! Smile

I don't know about "expert programmer" Smile, my main problem now is time. I'm too involved in other projects to regularly share patches. I think some older patches that I've shared are floating out there (here for instance, and I know I've posted a couple patches in this forum.) Maybe I'll get a chance to share a few more in the future.

If you're happy to pay, Klaus P. Rausch (who also did some of the factory voicing) has a bank available on this page.

Thanks for the tip, I bought them long ago. I´d gladly buy more great presets! Smile

When I get my andromeda (still waiting it to arrive) I will share any sound that I make for free.

I am into ambient and soundscapes , so you can count me in.
