If I assign a sound to output 3/4, it comes out of the 3/4 outputs ok but you can't hear it through the headphone jack. I want to be able to assign a metronome click to 3/4 and front-of-house sounds to the 1/2 output pair to go through the PA, with our drummer getting both in a headphones mix. Is this possible to do without resorting to an external hardware mixer?
Cheers, Angus

AFAIK, it is a fixed hw routing of outputs 1&2 to the headphones. So for your problem, wouldn't it be possible to permanently switch the use of your outputs: 1&2 click for drummer, 3&4 to FOH?

Edit: didn't read well Embarassed , you should mix output 3&4 signals in your patch with the click on 1&2, and feed this through the headphone out to the drummer. That way you have a mix with click for the drummer, FOH signal on 3&4 w/o click, and no hardware mixer. It does involve a little repatching.

So if I understand correctly, in order to give my drummer some of the actual FOH sounds as well as the click, I'd have to add a mixer module to my patches that take some of the 3/4 mix and mix it with the click on 1/2, right? Or alternatively, I suppose I could get a mono jack for the headphones, route the click to say 3 and just plug the phones into 3 and also add another output module to my patches to send a copy of the FOH sounds to 3...
Or maybe just record the whole lot on mini disc and hit play! Confused

If you're going to have your drummer use headphones, it makes sense to have a separate headphone mixer and amp. Because -

- The level of the G2's phone output may not be high enough. I know that it isn't for me; I use my external mixer when I use headphones.

- The drummer probably will want to adjust the click volume independently of the synth volume.

Good points. I think you're right. Simplifies the whole patching process too.
