I never had to wait for like 15 minutes

Hmmm....it was probably closer to 10 minutes. The file was the smallest of the three, and normally woulda zipped on through.

I just had another slow down trying to post a 2MB file.

It was taking bloody ages so I looked at the network usage and it was going at about 500 bytes per second!

I clicked post again and bang it went up to 50KB/sec, after a few seconds it was posted.

Weird!

Next time you guys are getting bad responses, in another window go to this link

http://gladsome.com/myserver-status

Don't worry about the Gladsome.com wording at the top, it's electro-music.com. If you can, copy (control c) the part that looks like this:

Quote:
Current Time: Saturday, 18-Jul-2009 11:20:37 MST
Restart Time: Sunday, 12-Jul-2009 00:13:52 MST
Parent Server Generation: 1
Server uptime: 6 days 11 hours 6 minutes 44 seconds
Total accesses: 1491899 - Total Traffic: 36.2 GB
CPU Usage: u895.46 s39.25 cu.07 cs0 - .167% CPU load
2.67 requests/sec - 67.9 kB/second - 25.4 kB/request
5 requests currently being processed, 17 idle workers

_W___C__C________K___W

Then post it here. Paste (control v)

Moviing this to a public fourm.

BTW, the newest version of Firefox, 3.5, is much improved from a performance perspective. It seems to be able to keep up with Google Chrome, by far the fastest browser.

That 0 idle workers is a clue that we are being hit, at those times, by either a lot of traffic, or by some nasty unfriendly scan bot.
