The Coolest Guitar Ever Is... Subject description: Post your baddest axes! |
|
|
I've got to enter two axes into the fray to start with in the quest for the coolest guitar ever. The transparent plexiglass guitar and the billet aluminum guitar. I don't have photos but you can imagine what they look like. OK, so I set the bar pretty high, but you guitar afficionados have got to know more that I do about guitar coolness. So off you go, post a jpg if you've got one and tell us what YOUR baddest axe is!

Ahh yes - with guitars there's just endless possibilities! This one is pretty awesome:
More pictures here.
I also have a soft spot for all things steampunk, so here's one example of a steampunk guitar:

Dang man, you trounced both of my axes with your eagle sword guitar man that is truly outstanding. Is there any guitar to challenge this masterpiece?

With you being the Master of Ceremony over in the Ancient Lore of Myths and Legends -thread, the Angelsword guitar should rightfully have been yours!

At times like these I usually google for Rick Nielsen. Maybe it depends on your definition of coolness...

That's a classic! If I'm not mistaken I saw that one on TV quite a lot on the-future-of-music kind of science programs in the 80s, being played by national guitar hero Janne Schaffer and others like him.

Zaphod Beeblebrox was based on him, although to to tone him down, Douglas Adams gave ZB an extra head... _________________ Where there are too many policemen, there is no liberty. Where there are too many soldiers, there is no peace. Where there are too many lawyers, there is no justice.

Yes, Carlo, which brings up a good point - what's the point of a cool guitar if it sounds like a tin can? In our quest for the coolest guitar ever we must consider the tone! _________________ "Let's make noise for peace." - Kijjaz |

Surely it can look like anything as long as it has a "Own Your Tone" installed?

Inventor wrote: | I still can't figure out where the tuning pegs are on the eagle-sword guitar. Does it have a special bridge that does the tuning? |
Yup. It has Steinberger style tuners at the bridge. You can see the mechanism here. Adjusters at the far right.
Re. the plexiglass guitar, I've read that it sounds fine, with looong sustain. At least the Dan Armstrong ones. It also weighs more than an old style Les Paul (BTW, newer Les Pauls are chambered and considerably lighter than the originals).

Hehe, yes you'll get more of whatever good sound is there with "Own Your Tone" installed, though the tone has to be there to grab onto in the first place.

I haven't seen one of those ibanezes before, the hex pickup looks the same as the one on my casio pg380.
Nice guitars by the way |
