hi, further to my last post, iwould like to add some detail to my problem: vco 1 is not to get in tune with vco 2. e.g. if you play a note with vco 1 in the higher tones, it is 5 half tones underneath in vco 2, but if you play a note in the lower tones,it is even 8 half tones underneath vco 2. what can i do? in fact it means that i can only use vco 2..happy for any help. cheers, knut

Sounds to me like you may have a scaling problem. This could be because either a failure of a component, or because someone's been in there messing about with the instrument, and has retuned some trimmers or something?

Ideally, you need to get hold of the MS-20 circuit diagram. I did have one somewhere, but I don't know where it is (it's easily available to download on the internet here; http://www.korganalogue.net/korgms/service/ms20/m20s.html). Can you use another controller, rather than the built-in keyboard? The MS-20 uses the Hz/v system, which uses a linear voltage opposed to a 1v/oct, which is exponential.

Here's the tuning guide- it's what you need!

Failing that, and you feel you can't do it yourself, you need to take the unit to an engineer who can fix it properly (but they will charge you!)

Good luck!

Tom

hi tom, i have tried what you suggested, but there is no way i can get near it...whenever i adjust one note from vco 1 to 2, it only works on this one. changing the octave control or playing another tone, it's completely out of tune...any other idea?
