In Logic I 'm working with an a capella vocal track and I wanted to create a harmony, so I used the time and pitch machine to make the track 300 cents or three half notes lower (I was planning to then select parts of the track to lower by a further half note to make the harmony be on key). However when I do this it also slows the track down, and I wanted the lower pitch version to be the same speed as the original. Is there a way to change pitch without slowing down or speeding up the track? And if not, is there a ration of how many beats per minute the track slows down per 100 cents? Then I could increase the tempo and lower the pitch at the same time to make it come out the same as the original speed, right?

My second question is about altering time in general. I notice it not only makes the track longer but every sound is elongated too, which can be undesirable especially for vocals. I know there's a program calld recycle which slices up loops, would this allow me to change the tempo of by solely adding empty space and not messing with the sound itself? Is there any other way to do this, either in Logic or Reason?

Thanks for any help I appreciate it.
