Tonight I will do a show which is very much inspired by a conversation between Shane Morris and MusicMan in the chat about tone clusters.

Now, I have no idea what tone clusters are, but I started playing around with them nevertheless, as I was working on some cross synthesis experiments too - so the result may not be the formal version of tone clusters, but at least it is inspired by it. Smile

There will also be some drums involved. And noise, knowing me. Ambient noise, of course.

Looking forward to your SPATCs--Synth Pad Ambient Tone Clusters or whatever you've come up with.

Here's one source I found the other day, if others are interested in reading about tone clusters:

My favorite part was the Speed Polka at the end! Or actually it was Speed Ambient, haha.

Hehe, I say silly things some times, that's why I edited out my introduction in the download. Razz

Thanks for the comments! Very Happy

Evidently you uploaded the file while I was at work. So fortunately, I was able to listen to it again--but this time I used headphones and it was well worth the repeat listen! I didn't think your narrative intro during the live stream was bad, but as a stand-alone performance, I think it works better starting from the point while the file begins--and there's no PSB abrupt cut to space music intro already playing! --Steve

I recorded tonight's show last night as I will be out again, playing live

I had lots of different ideas, but ended up doing an hour long improv using just the Yamaha VSS30 sampler, Korg Mini KP Kaoss Pad, Electrix Repeater looper and Boss DD-20 delay.

All sounds were from the VSS30, using its internal sounds or other sounds sampled live, on the fly.

As an added element of continuity from Rob's show last week I added some nice spacey tone clusters where appropriate Wink

Speaking of Rob, I'd like to say a big thanks in advance to him for streaming my show once more Smile

Hope you can tune in and enjoy Smile

When will the show be posted? I missed it because I had car trouble. Well, truth be told I let my battery die and it caused a whole day-long fiasco. PEBCAS: Problem Exists Between Chair And Steering wheel... Rolling Eyes

Well, the live show went well I think

I'm glad this weeks episode was enjoyable Smile

I'll try to upload it in the next day or so, but I had to get up early today to get a train up north for a meeting so I'm a bit tired as I didn't get much sleep

For my next show I will be using just my Nord modulars, with some looping and fx

It will be a completely improvised set and will go wherever my mood takes me Smile
