Anyone got any ideas? I have a Nord Stage 76 (not the EX).

I've just done exactly that, only on the EX - but I've previously done it on a blofeld and an xv-5080 too. This is how I've done it; no doubt others have done it differently, but I like it like this. Basic sound is two sawtooth oscillators - one oscillator tuned up a fifth. On the EX I put the 'mod env' in 'loop' mode, with a quickish attack and a longer release, modulating the filter - this gives you the pulsing. The speed of the pulsing is a matter of adjusting them both together on the EX. Then adjust the basic filter cutoff, and the amount it's modulated by, to get about the right sound. You'll want monophonic, but legato so the envelope doesn't retrigger. I've got the filter/keyboard tracking at 1/3rd. Finally I've piped mine through a really slow and mild autopan, and most importantly a slow phaser. Finally a little polish with a fast very low delay and a short reverb.

incidentally, the oscillator on the stage EX is "Sd" - SawtoothDetuned, don't know if that's the same on the stage.
