Tomorrow ( wednesday, june the 9th ) I will participate with the 24/7 live broadcast..

A three part live show together with Koen de Wit ( http://koendewit.com/k/news/news.html ) :

Mayakovsky

Is a max patch I wrote around the poetry of Mayakovsky, his voice is mixed and chopped with Koen and myself reciting and improvising.
The patch is autonomous, so all I do is start the patch and read poetry, while Koen plays his clarinet. The patch 'knows' when to start mayakovsky's voice and when to start and stop processing. Various parameters are controlled by analysing the input.

Posted Image, might have been reduced in size. Click Image to view fullscreen.

We did a simple version of this live at theater De kikker last month and we did a more complex version in Breda. This will be the third time we're performing it. The patch also has visuals, but their are complicated to add to a radio broadcast, so here's a youtube clip of the first performance to get you in the mood!

clarinet improvisations and processing

Live clarinet and me twisting knobs of fx pedals and a machinedrum.. I don't know what's going to happen, it'll be wild and fun.

playlist

We will play some songs from my album 'nothing large, but all things for little' where Koen and I collaborated on! We also be playing a few tracks from Koen's adventures as a contemporary clarinetist on the 'dance in rice carpet' project ( http://dereisnaarbatik.blogspot.com/2009/11/dance-in-ricecarpet.html ) and more..

We'll be preparing our stuff early in the evening and we will broadcast somewhere between 19:00 and 21:00 ( GMT +2:00 ) live from Holland!

Hope to have you listening on the other end..

Wow, you've got JBL LSR monitor speakers. Brilliant. You aren't using them in the ambiophonic position. Move them close together and try the free demo ambiophonic processor and you'll be in for a thrill.

Thanks to everyone for the great response yesterday! We enjoyed it very much and it was a great thing to do..

.. tonight I will do another live set, around 18:00, with my friend Michael ( http://www.myspace.com/illiqual ) we'll be experimenting by interconnecting two machinedrums and hopefully generate some crazy, rhythmic (pleasant) noise in the process.

Keep up the great work and hopefully see you there tonight!

edit: time zone!

Who was on between 2200 and 2300 yesterday (10 June)? I was tired and had to lie down, so I switched on EM 24/7 while resting. It was very soothing and hypnotic, and actually lulled me into an almost trance-like semi-sleep state. It was just lovely. I think I would have crashed for the day a lot sooner if I hadn't had that rest.

GMT 2200 - 2300 that would have been Les from 2nd life - that was a talk show really.

Well, it wasn't talk. I know I was listening to some nice music between 1600 and 1700 EST. Maybe I started earlier and it went into Les' show without my noticing. I know I can't make out speech unassisted, so I wouldn't be able to tell if he was talking around music, especially if I was spaced out. Razz

I've had the honor of having a couple of my noodles playing together with the other awesome stuff happening on the 24/7 event, especially during jfox's shift during european daytime (nice chatting with you jfox Smile ).

On tuesday 6 AM GMT I turned on Alien Landscape, an old noodle that I've posted here: http://electro-music.com/forum/topic-20671.html

On thursday 6 AM GMT I turned on the horribility perf, posted about it here: http://electro-music.com/forum/topic-42425.html. This also got a little bit of airtime in the mix monday evening, european time.

On friday 6 AM GMT I turned on the piano player, I've posted it here: http://electro-music.com/forum/topic-42428.html . I got the idea for this the day before and patched it up thursday evening. Smile

This has been enormous fun! All kudos to the guys managing the stream - jfox, Blue Hell and PHOBoS. A great effort.

Getting up in the morning, putting on a noodle and saying hi to the chat - a weird and warming experience. love

/Stefan

Since I've been mostly patching the G2 and hooking up stuff to other stuff, I thought I'd post some pictures of cables.

Gee Stefan

I am confused. I don't know what excites me more as I get older. Pictures of scantly glad women, or these pictures of cables. Laughing
