Maybe post some links to the audio files so we can listen to them in that order and give you feedback.

I have only posted the one song before. Do you all want me to post the other songs to this thread so you can hear them?

It's actually more than that.

15 from Off & Green + 126 from EdP (archive.org) + 1187 from EdP (sonicsquirrel.net) = 1328 (and counting)
Cool

Hi Les

Two things I want to say.

Firstly, congratulations on the first album. I think it's really quite something. I think despite the stylistic differences, it definitely has a consistent feel, and some pretty amazing music. I also love some of the poetry:

Quote:
Satan was restrained with ropes made of children's hopes
Beauty stroked his face
And Joy took his place

Secondly, here is a demo of a track you are welcome to use for the second one. If it doesn't fit with what you're trying to do, then that's fine, but if you would like to use it, please let me know when the 'release date' is because there's quite a bit of polishing I need to do with it. This file is really just a foot in the door!

I'll provide liner notes closer to the time if appropriate.

Cheers

Dovder

Dovder, I enjoyed listening to your song. It is akin to Antimon's work. Thanks for the compliment on the lyrics, I wrote those. I won't add your song to the album yet since you say it's not finished. I'll wait for the final version, keep us posted.

Les

Now that I think about it, Les, I'd prefer to trust your talents and listen to the final compilation, to maximize the wow effect I'm sure it will have. Cool

By the way, my song should be titled "The Wrong People" instead of "twp". Kinda looks like it's short for "toilet paper". Which the wrong people may very well be! Laughing

"twp" is what itunes did. I think it's because the song was named twp.mp3 and there was no title in the metadata. If you have a metadata preference, please set your metadata. Also please name the song file what you want it to go out as. Cool, thanksAbunch!

Okay, do you have an idea in mind when you want the album ready?

Thanks for the feedback by the way - I might have a gander at some of Antimon's stuff.

I have not set a time limit, this is all purposefully unstructured. I guess when we've got enough for an album we'll release and start collecting for a third album, so really it's an ongoing thing or seems to be so you can submit whenever you are comfortable.

Here is the Antimon song from the album:

But I did all that. The only thing I can think of is iTunes mangled it. Rolling Eyes

"Sand In My Pants" sounds like Stefan! Razz Where were you, dude, at the beach?

Most people have contributed songs ranging from two to five minutes. I have not imposed any song length restrictions, but I would think that 15 minutes might be a good upper limit, flexible of course. You can submit more than one track too DES.

Les

Excellent! I MUST find some time to do this. Very Happy

This Thursday on 7-8-10 at 6pm EST I will host my usual weekly "The Les Hall Show" on electro-music radio and feature a special sneak preview of the album. I'll be playing all of the submitted songs in their current order and announcing them briefly. So tune in for a good show and an album preview!

Les

Ooo! Les! Is there any idea yet as to when you'll be closing acceptances for the 2nd album? For the first time in almost 5 years, I finally have enough gear now that I'd started composing again on the weekend. I might be able to have something cobbled together if the deadline's not soon ... ? Smile (I'd rather go with something new rather than any of my older stuff.)

Rych, Hell Yeah man! I'll hold the album for you, just don't take forever and keep others waiting... I'd love to hear the Deathlehem Machine rock out! By the way I mention Deathlehem in my Laptop Battle EM10 song.
