roland:
i am selling all my gear to downsize to a new MacBook Pro. alot of this stuff has been replaced by software and i guess i feel that i can get some similar / some different results by using Renoise, Reaktor, Absynth, Melodyne, and my Spectrasonics stuff through my laptop instead of lugging all this hardware around. wish GRM Tools would update their stuff.
Roland and Clavia have too much built-in obsolescence for my tastes. back when i got alot of this gear - they didn't have laptops and software that can do what they do now.
i sincerely appreciate your assistance with the AnythingBox patch. the frustration with that and other things led me to sell the gear. i am letting you guys know before i sell it on Craigslist or eBay.
iPassenger:
when i play live the speakers turn around to face the audience. that way i am in total control of my sound and not some tone-deaf clown behind a soundboard at a show. in my apartment they face me when practicing and i keep them real quiet
it's a mike patton-inspired design. |

after looking around the net - here are the prices:
G2 Expanded Engine: $1200 + S&H or best offer
Micro Modular: $400 + S&H or best offer
i live in Omaha, NE 68154 - USA. i work at PayPal in the Disputes department and know how open sellers are to potential buyer and mail fraud - especially overseas. not that any of you guys would do that, but to protect myself i will only accept Western Union Money Orders. i will ship any method the buyer wants, but prefer UPS or FedEx so we can track the package. |

Dunno, I always find it a bit sad to see people getting disappointed to the point where they sell off all their equipment _________________ Jan |

I know what you mean, I have done it myself.. Got convinced by the whole do it all in software theory a few years back, sold practically everything to do it. Got fed up with software and built it back up again..
Having said that i do think software of late has really come on leaps and bounds, still has the interface issue of course but sound wise it is damn good.
I love my hardware though, makes me feel guilty for not making music which gets me making music.. never felt that way about software. _________________ iP (Ross B)

Let me get this straight: you work for Paypal and don't trust it enough to use it for your personal business? |

oh i trust it. i work in Disputes. i've seen every shady thing there is. i know how much risk sellers are at from unscrupulous buyers.
here's four (of many):
1) seller sends expensive item to buyer with delivery confirmation. buyer says it's an empty box. if buyer doesn't have a history of abuse or fraudulent behavior - buyer wins claim 99.9% of time. funds are pulled from seller's account (or taken negative and eventually to collections).
2) buyer receives item from seller sold outside of eBay. seller sent perfect item. buyer claims it is damaged. since PayPal doesn't cover off-eBay SNAD claims (significantly not as described), PayPal closes claim in seller's favor. BUT, angry buyer then files claim (chargeback) with bank or credit card company (btw - most credit card companies allow chargebacks to be filed for 120+ days from date of purchase). since it is a 'merchandise complaint' - PayPal cannot argue it against the bank or credit card company. seller automatically loses and funds are pulled from seller's account (or taken negative and eventually to collections). most bank and credit card companies do not require the buyer to prove the item was returned to the seller before pulling the funds back - only that they 'make it available' for the seller to recover.
3) seller sells perfect item on eBay. buyer gets to use it for 45 days before filing claim. buyer damages item. (i had a buyer spill beer all over a $1500 sampler and say it was that way after he had it for 37 days). buyer files claim. buyer simply has to show proof of delivery back to seller and gets his money back. seller gets damaged item back.
4) same scenario as above - but this time buyer states that item is damaged. sends back his old beat to shit unit and keeps your nice new one (trading up).
this stuff happens all the time. so - no. i trust PayPal. i don't necessarily trust the buyers that buy using ANY form of payment that can be contested in order to defraud a seller. |

| Unfortunately though if we don't pay by paypal we don't get any protection if you did for instance send an empty box? |

that, and you don't even trust members of this forum, some of which may have extensive history here?
also, didn't hear back from you and ended up buying the Machinedrum-UW.

Purchased from Hyde |
 |
|
I just wanted to let other members know that I recently purchased (Micro Modular) from Hyde and I am very pleased with the it. He keeps his equipment in mint condition, not even a scratch. He sold it to me at a fair price, comparible to eBay's sales of the same Nord. (I'm not huge into eBay - bidding over and over on the same thing). He was very quick to respond to my emails, so if you have any questions about buying something, just ask.
So if your interested in buying from Hyde, his equipment is in mint condition (even original manual, in my case), very fast shipping and fair price.
I wanted to post this so that others can feel comfortable buying from him as well. |
