This is 3 state variable filters with crossfade between source and bandpass mix for effect depth. A recreation of a 'formant filter'.

See Rob Hordijk's superb G2 Workshops:

"Common Filter Types/Combining two or more state variable filters in bandpass mode"

formant filter.pch2
 Description:
3 state variable filters with crossfade between source and bandpass mix for effect depth. Designed by Rob Hordijk. Patched by cebec.
Updated by cebec per mosc's suggestions.

Suggestions:

The file name is formant filter but the pactch is named building block. Why not call the patch something meaningfull so when it's on the screen you get some idea what it is.

There is nothing in the textpad to explain the block and how to use it.

It's hard to tell what is in the block and what is there to make the block into a minimal patch.

Don't mean to be critical, but maybe we can extablish a model of how to post a building block - sort of an unoffical standard or something like that.

You're right, I should've changed the patch name. I'll do that, now. Also, I planned on pasting the relevant section of Rob's workshop for those patches into a textpad but I was hesitant to do so for fear it would violate his copyright or bother him in some way.
I'm all for establishing a standard, too. I wanted to upload some to show what I had come up with and see what others had in mind and listen to suggestions.
I'm going to tweak this one, for a start.

Yes, I didn't want to be critical, but I could tell you are into making this a really high-quality resource. I'm glad you took my comments in a postive way. Very Happy

It might be a good idea to talk to Ron offline and see what his take is on all this. He might have some great suggestions.

I've gone ahead and updated this patch to include the pertinent info from Rob's G2 Workshop and I color-coded the modules to indicate which are part of the demonstration and which are part of the building block.
I also e-mailed Rob and intend to get his permission before I excerpt any more text from his workshops to include with forthcoming building blocks.

Great. Much better. BTW, when I load this patch, the slot is muted. You have to unmute it with knob 8 on the Patch Settings or with the G2 Editor.
