Nice one, that must have taken some time to put together. In honor of your effort I will be giving out Halloween treats with this playing in the background. |

Nice collage Jan. I'm curious- what SW/HW did you use to record these into the final mix?
It's a very clear & clean final recording- good levels too. _________________ Free Tibet. Release the Panchen Lama from prison. Let the Dalai Lama return to his home. |

Thanks for the kind words.
It was done entirely with cooledit (now marketed as adobe audition).
Paulstretch will do nicer stretching BTW. _________________ Jan

I can't say that I've heard any stretching or aliasing issues.
Did you do the recording on a laptop or desktop? _________________ Free Tibet. Release the Panchen Lama from prison. Let the Dalai Lama return to his home. |

on a laptop, I do mostly everything on laptops these days; the floortop acts as the sever for bluehell.electro-music.com, and the tabletop is a NAS actually.
You make me curious Tony, why do you want to know that? _________________ Jan

Because the recording came out so clear and with good levels, I can never get that kind of sound from my laptop. _________________ Free Tibet. Release the Panchen Lama from prison. Let the Dalai Lama return to his home. |

laptop uses a USB sound card ... the sounds never lefft the laptop except for listening, which mostly I did on headphones. On a desktop that would not have been any different. _________________ Jan

I really like this! Great job Jan!
The stretch in cool edit/AA is quite nice - I use it a lot too. _________________ Muied Lumens Sub Forum

Thanks Rob.
Thing is the stretch seems to make a tone of its own, which i do not always like. I seem to vaguely remember that using "Pitch and time settings" this can be controlled ... but I had it set to "Choose appropriate defaults". Anyway, for this one I did some pitch shifts on the tracks later on to get the drone out a bit. _________________ Jan

You can set it to a particular frequency, say 100 hz, but you may know that... To get rid of the pitch, set it to a high frequency, like 500 or 1000 hz. Other artifacts hide there. _________________ Muied Lumens Sub Forum

Listening now....Love the intro (door?) This is like a fairy tale gone wrong..cool! ......like you're all alone outdoors in the middle of nowhere, and something awful is going to happen, or the fear of being alone creeps in.......the evil approaches..and surrounds...a government helicopter watches overhead studying the situation down below....the horrors begin ...the world crashes down on the victim.....the deed is done, and the birds come back to carnage... the helicopters come back and film how the animals are reacting and returns home.. the "victim" is still alive, resurfaces and celebrates...but the fear is still in the back of the mind, but wont give into it... and carries on with the task at hand..
EXCELLENT!! Enjoyed the journey!! |
