Hey Eric, I love that Buchla 200 housing you made. Do you have templates and dimensions for it? I was actually planning something similar, but was going to start from scratch. I was going to design it from scratch, but if I had templates or dimensions to start from, that'd be grand... |

Believe it or not, I mostly did everything by eye-- there's a wealth of photos online for virtually every module. Still, I haven't really had a lot of time to work on this stuff, so it's taken me years to get this far. I'd like to come to some sort of finish before sharing any layouts, etc. I'm open to trades though.
I made the folding cabinet on Illustrator, using photos as my guide. But, I'm not super versed in Illustrator, so I've had trouble with other designs there. The next big thing I'd like to get worked out is the key design used on the 216 Touch Controlled Voltage Source. For my purposes, this is the most desirable, useful and doable of the various Buchla key designs. If someone could help me get a good scale illustrator drawing of this design, I'd be happy to trade for other layouts. I don't think it should be that difficult, but I don't have much access to a computer that will run illustrator very effectively.

well, I'm not really interested in emulating the Buchla modules themselves, just the case. Like those shelves look pretty shallow, how deep are they? Looks tight getting PCBs and all in there. |

here's my new box - 3 oscillators and LP filter, with simple sequencer with LED blob, and switchable LDR controls for pitch and filter freq.
And I'm amazed at the beautiful stuff people have shown up above.

Soundlab Ultimate, Expander and Keyboard. The Synth unit can be removed from the keyboard section to operate on it's own by removing two bolts.
I've been working on this way too long - one trim item remains to be done, the space between the two panels - still working on that. Other than that, it's set to go.

Thank you! Building these is so much fun!
I already have plans, cases, and pcbs for two more SynthCase projects after this one, and by the time I get them built I'll probably have a few more ready to go. Once you get started building this stuff it's impossible to stop!
Take care,

That's the plan - the two finishes on the panels kind of demand a bit of wood. _________________ www.sdiy.org/rfeng
