my roomate just surprised me with a happy edition to our little home studio: a second nord modular. it came chock full of patches, using all up to patch bay 8 (i never even more than 6, but i'm a big space conserving freak). anyway, last night he ran into a problem that i've never had to deal with: his flash memory was full. at first i thought we could just overwrite old patches, but even then it said the flash memory was full. so i thought okay, maybe i can upload a near-empty bank over an existing one - same problem though. apparently it's too full to be able to overwrite anything. i then whipped out the ol' manual but could find nothing about deleting old patches from the nord. anybody got any ideas?

A quick way to erase patches is by doing a bank upload with a pchlist that has no patches in it. You can make one in a text editor by deleting all hte patches from it but leaving the first line.

But .. as this does not seem to work, maybe start by erasing the last bank (8) first.

When everything fails ... downgrade the OS to 2.1 and then upgrade again to 3.03. - this should get rid of all patches (as they have to be deleted for compatibility reasons).

I vaguely remeber something about secret key combinations (while booting) .. there should be something about it in the email archives .. but that just means they are lost I guess.

When you need OS 2.1 ... just PM me with an email address to send it to.

Jan.
