by the way, the ghostly moaning sound you hear in that recording above was created from an special multi-oscillator thingie that i re-invented and smooshed together on a breadboard, being fed into the final KS loop. I would like to name this oscillator, if it does not have a name, after our beloved mosc: the multi oscillator, or for short the "mosc".

I don't know if it's appropriate that a moscKS makes ghostly moaning sounds but it's a fun oscillator so I think I'll keep working on it.

Les

p.s. you could allso call it an analog ring oscillator, or ARO, whatever.

My performance, improvised fun on a software model of a hardware product that I am designing with an external oscillator that I created on a breadboard. I was tweaking 3 pots in HW, 11 sliders in SW, and 3 buttons in SW. Circuit is combination of BS and 3 KS loops with three sound injectors plus the HW oscillator.

The music turned out very aggressive in most places with fast tempos, wailing ghost sounds, a T-Rex and a spark of imagination, not to mention a lot of pure BS. Well, BSKSKSKS to be exact. You want to be pumped up - you got it!

Perfect for listening while cleaning the kitchen and living room. Smile Thanks for playing!

I will try my best to come up with a couple of hours worth of live performance during the time that Organized Sound would normally be on. Or, if others are willing to participate I could mix a live jam--either that time or another time.

(Already I am trying to think of beats in 48/7 time. )

Well, since the event was changed to 48 LIVE! instead of 48/7, I abandoned the idea of doing beats in 48/7. Also, since I already mixed a 4 or 5 hour session during the first 24 hours, I am planning to do a live performance during the time that Organized Sound would normally be on. I suppose (if others are interested), I could do a performance for the first half and then open it up to a mix.

Thank you Kevin. Of course this is a learned technique not a discovered one so i credit it's creators and it's teachers who made it possible for me to make use of it, but given that I AM just a little bit proud of myself. Though still a bit harsh around the edges, I feel my music making techniques maturing somewhat after 3+ years with em. Thanks everyone it was a blast!!

As part of the 48 LIVE! event, I mixed a number of audio sources from electro-musicians on Saturday, 5 February 2011. I believe this included audio from EdisonRex, Blue_Hell, Antimon, Jack_Hertz, and others. I also played live synths and put that in the mix.

WMonk has agreed to host the files captured by butt. These are raw files and include occasional dropouts, silence when I forgot to turn off butt, etc. The largest file is 5 1/4 hours; one of the files is about 2 or 3 minutes. I believe there are about 7 or 8 hours from the mix.

We are making them available in case you want to listen. If you find a section that you feel might be sectioned out as a standalone piece, please let others know by identifying the source file and the start and end times.

Also, if you know that you are included as a performer in certain sections, please post that info (unless you'd prefer to remain anonymous).

rec_(02_05_2011)_1.mp3
rec_(02_05_2011)_2.mp3
rec_(02_05_2011)_3.mp3
rec_(02_05_2011)_4.mp3

I will try to post info about the files, such as overall length, gaps, etc. I spot checked the files before uploading them and heard some interesting sections. So I decided others may find the material interesting as well.

Thanks to Woody Monk for hosting the files to conserve electro-music.com's file storage.

Sunday Feb 6 I had the pleasure of jammin' with some people but before
that I did the endmix for Antimon & Dave's jam which I think was excellent.
download: 48LIVE - Antimon & Dave

After they had finished playing Shane Morris was supposed to be next,
so I decided to do a brief intermission but Shane kept having trouble with
his stream so sadly he wasn't able to play. Dave, who was still streaming,
joined me for a short fun mini-jam.

There wasn't anyone else ready to play so i just kept going. I didn't really
plan on doing a live set so I had a very limited setup basically consisting out of:

Blue Perf Sequencer:

Purple Star 555:

and some effects. (later on I also used my circuit bend MixMeDj)

Here's my solo set: 48LIVE - PHOBoS

After I had played for about 90 minutes Jack Hertz joined me for some
nice music with noisey bits.
download: 48LIVE - PHOBoS & Jack Hertz (part I)
download: 48LIVE - PHOBoS & Jack Hertz (part II)

Rob also played a bit and I added some sounds myself too.
download: 48LIVE - PHOBoS & Rob

And finally Jez, Woody Monk and Les Hall joined in aswell

Thanks to everyone who participated, it was fun! Very Happy
and special thanks to Woody Monk for hosting the files!

Thanks for posting all that, PHOBoS! I have a recording of my own that I haven't gotten around to cutting up... now I don't have to. Smile
