Sure, it's like a little joystick, that moves directionally. (it is the Energy Dome Devo looking thing) It's like a joystick for your thumb.
But instead of pots inside, its 4 switches in a plus sign (hatswitch), so it'll have to be configured slightly different than the large stick. But it should provide decent control of some of Osc 2's functions. But i'm still not sure....
There still might be a better way to control the 2nd Osc.... |

When we say 2 Osc's do we really mean 2 KS loops? Cause there's not even 1 Osc on the board that I sent you buddy! I think you mean 2 KS loops, and wow does that second loop make a great difference in the sound!

What is the sound of 1 loop looping
Yeah, i guess i mean a KS Loop. Still think it could be considered an Osc though. Like on a sampler, whatever waveforms you pick are still considered the Osc.
But hey, my vocabulary isn't the best (for example: calling the modulation trigs- "Bounce Buttons"), so feel free to correct me at any time.
SO, can the KS Loop still be considered an Oscillator? Here's the Wiki Def:
An electronic oscillator is an electronic circuit that produces a repetitive electronic signal, often a sine wave or a square wave. |

Aha, I am corrected! Indeed, grasshopper has learned that a KS loop is in fact an oscillator! In fact, I have some ChucK programs with KS loops that oscillate with no input - the trick is boosting the gain to "catch" the signal, then lowering it to maintain the signal. You can actually play a plain KS loop like an instrument in fact. It is kind of drone-ish.
But yes, for the purpose of me knowing what you want me to build for our project, 1:11, specifying KS or loop would be more clear. Now i must go try to grab pebble from teacher's hand, ah-so!

Let me add to the confusion ... I'd consider KS to be a filter ... as other filters it can be made to self oscillate _________________ Jan

I'd like to do something like in the post of the Moscillator, generalize a KS loop to a geometric shape or something. make KS bucky balls and tetrahedrons and stuff. Not sure what would happen.

Ah, there we go. Thanks, Jan!!
So (please correct me if i'm wrong Les) the KS loop is a feedback loop, and the sounds this synth creates is from the filters resonance? Essentially a modulated feedback loop?
How i get the synth type sounds is with Rapid Modulation Settings from the Boolean. |

Here's a lil peek at what the new controllers will look like like.
There'll be additional buttons on the base, wont have the cord, and i'm trying to get them glossier, and tightnen up the lines more...but hey....
Don't these look like something a StormTrooper would use?

Thanks!
These are old joysticks people don't use anymore. My GF suggested i try to make em look different than just a regular ol stick. Something to set em apart, and say, "Hey, this isn't just a joystick!!"
Good advice me thinks!!
i'm trying a variety of different paints/colors...but i love this StormTrooper look. i think i'm going to make the first set out all like this. |

Thanks!! Monsieur Cold and i are havin lots of fun scrambling up sounds:D
i think the Graveyard you are talking about is on the south side of town..the Aircraft Graveyard for the military, right?
That place is pretty freaking cool if you're an aircraft buff. Rows and rows of grounded planes, some rather rare...like the old Presedential plane, ect.
It'd be crazy to have an actual Jetstick.....next time i go, i'm gonna ask if they have a spare, won't hurt to ask!!
(edit: i'm trying to find this pic of me on the flight simulator at the Graveyard, i look like a 4 year old on those quarter rides in front of the supermarket) |

It's in that!?!
That movie is the reason why i moved to the desert!! NOT JOKING.
That film seriously blew my mind.
In a VERY big way.
i can't go down an interstate without hearing Philip Glass in my head.

Cool!!
Don't know if i seen the 3rd one, did see the second (powasomethin) though. Sometimes you can find an indy theatre that runs em...always a treat seeing em on the big screen, big sound. Makes you feel real small!!
Do you like Philip Glass, Audio? |
