Don't think so - someone would have to program for it. _________________ Jan

Anyway, if you post your tracks here they might end up on the radio too ... _________________ Jan

heh, better not - but you can post flac files, those are lossless and so have the same quality as wavs but are a fair bit smaller, and they will still play on the radio (mp3, ogg and flac are supported there). _________________ Jan

The shows, at show time are done life (even when some DJing is involved as is the case on some), usually they end up on the playlist later too though. _________________ Jan

I kind of like the way you need to post something here in order for it to appear on the automatic playlist. Posting a file to the forums means that you give electro-music.com some kind of privilege regarding hosting that file, and it's not such a big step to including it in the radio stream.
Though I don't think that it is totally obvious - have you ever pondered having some kind of "by posting your file here you give electro-music permission to broadcast it in a live shoutcast stream" disclaimer?
Anyway, if you could post links to other sites (including Soundcloud) and have that played, chances are people would hear themselves on the radio without having given their consent for that to happen.
The embedded player on SoundCloud kicks ass though. I would love it if e-m.com had an embedded sound player on each file. _________________ Antimon's Window

Quote: | By uploading music and/or sound recordings on the forum of electro-music.com, permission is implicitly granted to electro-music.com to play such media on the site's streaming radio service hosted on radio.electro-music.com. The information placed in the Description field of the forum's attachment mechanism will appear on the radio.electro-music.com page when the file is streamed. |

Yes, that'd be nice, I agree - guess we do not need the fancy stuff SoundCloud has, and I'd want something that is not flash based and still is able to play mp3s on all platforms (so not depending on Flash, QT, VLC, ... being installed at the client side).
You have any hints for me as to how to program that? _________________ Jan

Ah of course. Everyone should be aware of that one. Erm... maybe I should have a look myself. _________________ Antimon's Window

I'm no expert here really, I'm just saying what would be nice to have. In my not-so-educated view:
In time I guess it will be doable. The html5 audio tag is getting there, but the weird support divergence between browsers (commersion vs non-commercial) may render that one useless for e.g. Firefox users, since it's all mostly mp3 here (if I understand everything correctly). If you could have some automated conversion so that there was always one file with proprietary encoding and one without for every piece of work (or just have some smooth way for users to upload two copies for a work at the same time, as well as explaining why that's useful), it might work, but I guess that might be too heavy.
I've gathered the reluctance to use flash from everyone here, and I guess I agree, but it seems to still be the favoured method out there.
