Wouldn't miss it.

Have a good tour ahead of time, Jez! I'll be swamped in the first full week of classes + a planetarium computer music gig with some students and Michael O'Bannon the evening of September 7 -- feel free to stop by if you find yourself near Kutztown, PA -- will see you at EM2011.

By the way, just finished up a very satisfying 5 day Intl. Computer Music Conf. at Huddersfield, which was preceded by 2 days in London. Now in the Lake District for a few days, then it's back to London for our 36th wedding anniversary, then home. Having a great time in the UK!

Yep, although at this point I am not so sure. With 5 asymmetric speakers (at precise multiples of 22.5 degrees, but asymmetric nonetheless) + a subwoofer in the planetarium, the plan is to send my son's two stereo outs to two of the speakers, mine to two, and mix our 4 signals down to mono for the fifth as well as the subwoofer.

To send to the stream we'd have to add a mixer and probably another laptop and, most importantly, find a reliable student to manage the stream. The 2 weeks left after my wife and I get home will be extremely busy. If you decide that you absolutely will not be streaming that evening, I'll see about scouting out a student. But, if you have music for the stream, it's all yours Razz

Lake Country was beautiful, absolutely brilliant green. We didn't get to any big forests -- mostly sheep pastures -- but I imagine there are some nice old growth forests about. The one day it rained all day, so we rode buses, visited the Beatrix Potter sites. It cleared enough in the late afternoon / evening to get a decent hillside hike in. Last night was Oxford, some nice pubs and photos, and just now back into London. Hope we can stay away from the riots. They seem to be spreading. Home on Wednesday.

Smile

I'd quite like to try to get to your show Dale, sounds very interesting

Need to talk to some people to see if it's possible

Could always do a pre-recorded show if necessary, see how you feel

Those riots sound a bit bad so good luck avoiding them

I'll scout out a student helper when I get home. If the stream doesn't pan out, I'll put her/him in charge of recording to stream later.

Have heard rumours on TV of some trouble in Birmingham and Leeds as well.

Several theories surfacing here.

There have been flash mobs in Philadelphia in the past, but never anything like this since the 1960's. All is quiet here in North Ealing -- no shops -- we'll have to be careful in the downtown tomorrow.

As far as I know I will be there again this year, as long as my camper weathers the impending hurricane. I am right outside of Atlantic City. About a half mile away from the mandatory evacuation zone. I don't start getting concerned about hurricanes until they get to Cape Hatteras. Thats when we get a better idea of how bad it will be. When the storm gets to its closest point, I am going to put my little digital Tascam recorder out to record the wind and rain. If anyone wants a copy of it I will make it available. It might be a cool addition to someones performance.
