Wow.

I don't even know where to start. I came to electro-music 2011 with very little idea what to expect, and very few plans, and it ended up being way more than I could possibly have imagined. I'm very thankful to have had all the opportunities that I did to play with you and for you, and particularly honored and humbled to be given the chance to close out the festival. It was really very special to me...

Not to sound like any more of an acceptance speech than this already does... But if you'll indulge me, I want to thank Howard and Greg and Genevieve and the whole organization for a great event; Greg for pushing me directly into the deep end; Ken Palmer, Andy Koenig, Bill Fieger, Project Ruori, Andy Koenig (again), Dale Parson, Kevin Kissinger, Matt Radcliffe, and the disembodied voice of Charles Shriner for being extremely cool and gracious people to share a stage with; Dale Parson and Ian Harriman for helping me sound better; Michael O'Bannon and Project Ruori for helping me look better; Paul Harriman and Darren Bergstein for some especially kind words; Charles Shriner, Kevin Kissinger and Joo Won Park for sharing something particularly moving; everyone who picked up a cd, or accepted the one that I forced upon them; all who kept me company whilst manning the streams, whether at the desk or on the Internets; and just everyone, seriously, all weekend, for such a wealth and variety of wonderful and inspiring performances. Phew. I think that's it.

You're lovely people, I think I'll stay...

Yep, I second those feelings! I'm especially impressed with the dedication of Greg & Hong, who do practically everything, they are there before anyone comes and stay till after everyone leaves. Greg & Hong, you're the best!!!!!

Laura

Adam, I think you'll be a keeper. Thanks for all the help on the streams and wherever else you showed up. I'll even forgive you for talking over the first six minutes of my sunday morning ephemera. Wink

Lol. Yeah... I was wondering when you'd notice that. Wink

I'm gonna blame Dr. Steve. He was in the captain's chair, and I just popped by for a chat. We got a little enthusiastic, and then eventually kinda went '...shit, they're not sound checking anymore, are they?'

Ah well, just makes it that much more ephemeral, right? Embarassed

I'm going to release it into the wild, actually. So that you get your six minutes of fame. Wink Maybe next time you'll check the headphones.

But yes, the ephemera are always one of a kind. Laughing

While we're here thanking people I want to thank Gen, Hong, Greg, Kevin, Dale, and of course Howard. But I'm biased there.

I'd like to thank everyone who braved the flooded plains and roads of Pennsylvania, New Jersey and New York to be part of our event. As usual, whenever there was a problem, people magically came together to solve it. The music was inspiring, the friendships very rewarding, and it's great to welcome new members into the community!

I don't know why, but of the 3 I've attended so far this one just seemed to be my favourite, so a big thanks to everyone who attended and made it happen Smile

Also my first electro-music. It was fantastic. I really enjoyed the great tunes, and meeting so many of you. I'm hooked and I can't wait for next year!

Many thanks to all the performers this year -- and particularly to everyone behind the scenes who worked to make this happen -- Greg, Hong, Howard, Kevin, Paul, Genevieve and many others.

And a big thanks to Jeremy dePrisco who got me through the workshop. Jez, I think it was also my favorite year so far.

There is not enough space here for me to express my thanks to all who organized, volunteered, performed and came to the event. This was my second year coming to EM, and I came home with more ideas and inspiration from all that I met. Great music, and even better people. Whether we shared a smile, a brief hello, shared a joke, talked at length or jammed together, it all added up to make the weekend a memorable one. Hope to see everyone next year!!

The 2011 electro-music festival came and went too fast. To share a three-day weekend with talented, creative, and fun people surrounded by beautiful natural scenery is to be inspired and invigorated.

There are many people I wish to thank. Howard and the international group of sysadmins for maintaining the servers and software for electro-music.com and radio.electro-music.com, Greg for co-organizing the festival with Howard, Paul for manning the streaming table, and Genevieve and Hong for running the concession/merchandise table.

The video adds much to the festival and thanks to Project Ruori, Michael, and all others who provided equipment and expertise for the video.

Thanks to all those who volunteered to run sound -- which includes getting everyone "plugged in" and sound checked. In years gone by, a few of us ran sound for the entire festival and it really makes a difference to have all the volunteers.

Personally, I would like to thank Charles Shriner, Andrew Koenig, and Howard for including me in their sets and I look forward to more collaborations in the future.

Also, this was Matthew's (aka "Tom") first EM conference and thank you to everyone for making him feel at home. He had a great, fun time! He especially enjoyed helping out at the concession/merchandise table. Also, thank you Ian for teaching Matthew a couple of contact juggling moves.

Thank you Charles for your great workshop and thank you Jo Won for a very moving impromptu collaboration as part of the workshop.

I had a great time this year and always leave with many new ideas for future musical efforts.

Thanks to one and all. See you next year!

Hear, hear! All Ears This was hands down the best year for volunteering for sound engineering duty since I began doing that in 2008 (with stand-in stints on sound and streaming in previous years), because plenty of people volunteered, and they were reliable and conscientious without exception props thanks
