OK, I can live with this, but...

.. any time my laptop goes into hibernation, the USB connection between the synth and editor goes down (1.30 beta, same for 1.24). I have to either kill the editor and start over, or disconnect and reconnect, etc.

Windows XP, Dell Latitude.

Any fix for this?

hm, I've encountered usb probs myself with a desktop... when I shut down engine and editor, than start them up again later I get the 'USB device not recognized' message, and I have to restart windows. It's not the same problem as yours, but possibly related. Anyone else noticed this?

If it was me, I'd do a few thingss: first check to see if there's updated drivers (for the USB hubs). Mostly a no-brainer. Second, I'd remove the latest drivers for my USB chips, and go with the defaults. (I have a PCMCIA USB 2.0 card that acted funny until I removed drivers and windows installed the default driver for it).

Some devices I've had also have a "suspend device on power-down" or similar feature. I don't remeber where this feature is (settings/system/hardware-> properties), but try unsetting it.

Are there other USB devices on the same hub? can you isolate the G2 to have it's own hub and see if that helps? USB has a "suspend" mode, which then has a complimentary "reset" or "wake up" signaling to it's clients. The driver might not be doing this correctly, or some devices on the USB bus are getting confused? Anyway, just shots in the dark...
