Water & Bird Box Subject description: one year child gift !! |
|
|
Hi all !
I want to share with you this little noise box i made for my friend's child birthday (one year !!). It gives a messy sound, but can create beautiful artefacts...
Here's the schematic ! I had best results with very little caps ( 0,001uf & 0,047 for the clock).
It's based on a cd4093 & a cd4094 ( i don't really know if i used it the right way...).
Let me know what you think about it, and ideas to improve it are welcomed !!

Just looked up the 4049N but it appears you are using something else entirely, the only 4049 I can see is some logic buffers.
Would it be possible to get some sound too? _________________ As a mad scientist I am ruled by the dictum of science: "I could be wrong about this but lets find out"

i don't really understand what you mean Jingle jOe... sorry....
no sounds, it was a gift... But with very fast oscillators, you can get some sounds which can remind the eric archer tune in tokyo ( even if it's really not the same thing and not so complicated.... ) _________________ http://h.a.k.free.fr/

There's a wrong way to use a part in a Lunetta? I think that if it makes sound, you've found a right way. |

oh I read the number wrong on the IC, but I also requested some audio samples of this device. _________________ As a mad scientist I am ruled by the dictum of science: "I could be wrong about this but lets find out"

I would have liked to hear it too. I am intrigued by electronic "water sounds", but right now I don't have a 4094 to build the circuit myself. Ah well, not sure when I can get to the electronics store... maybe I'll pick up a bunch of CMOS I still don't have. |

sorry, i don't have any sound sample... it's now in my friend's child hands... As soon as i get a recorder, i'll do that !! _________________ http://h.a.k.free.fr/

OK, I finally managed to get to the electronics store and buy a 4094. I built the circuit, but instead of photo-resistors, I used pots. The sound was barely audible, so I just used one of the outputs of the 4094, bypassing the diodes & LEDs. All the outputs had the same sound, as far as I could tell.
Maybe I read the schematic wrong? The output is connected to the vertical line which connects the cathodes of the diodes? Pin 1 of the 4094 is connected to pin 15? Pin 10 and 11 of the 4093 are connected to pins 2 and 3, respectively? |

Yes, i realized that all the outputs were the same...
I've tried several condensator values, little values are best... And i've sent the output bus to a lm386, in order to feed a little speaker...
It's my first design with a cd4094, i think it's a bit messy, but i'll go back to it as soon as i can, i think it can be improved.
I've never tried with pots, maybe it wouldn't work the same way... DOn't know.
But it's a really messy noise toy ! _________________ http://h.a.k.free.fr/
