Sure you can still use Edcast ... it's just that Edcast is gone, so for new streamers BUTT seems more practical, and BUTT supports the sc_trans way of connecting, but you'll not be using that now (nothing changed for you, your good old port is still up with the same password and all).

It appears that Butt will not work with the latest version Ubuntu 12.04 LTS [not on my netbook anyway] Sad

Meanwhile ... edcast seems to have Phoenixed into http://code.google.com/p/edcast-reborn/ ... maybe that will work for you?

ahh.. I put Ubuntu 11.10 back on and now I have a dedicated streaming netbook. I'll get another netbook for general use fitted with 12.04 Smile
