controlling parameters from differant slots |
|
|
I thought I had this figured out but can't seem to get it working.
I want to use slot D as a master 'mixer' patch for the other 3 slots on the nord as well as various things on my laptop.
I thought that i could assign knob A1 on slot d to a midi CC # on midi channlel 1and then have a midi receive module in slot A hooked up to some sort of level module to control its gain. However, none of the level modules seem to accept control data.
So i thought instead i could do it the other way around and assign the gain dial in a level amp module in slot A to a Midi CC# using the midi controller submenu and then set up a midi cc send module in slot D but it just doesn't seem to work.
any ideas where I'm going wrong? |

The numbered midi I/O is all related to the MIDI connectors only - you need a MIDI send module in slot D to send to slotA (and NOT to the MIDI channel slot A happens to listen on), and then in slot A just associate some knob with a MIDI CC the usual way.
Not all MIDI can be sent this way, but the MIDI CC send module can do that trick, just go a bit up after ch 16 and you'll find the special stuff. _________________ Jan

gotcha, thanks very much.
although in my searches i discovered the global assign function, which might be a better method for what i wan to do. It would certainly involve less programming midi CC send + receive modules |

It belongs to your uni? Nice, wish we had one when i was at college.
Have being saying for ages that it is fantastic format for education in synthesis/control/logic etc..
The demo should be in every school computer room. _________________ iP (Ross)
