has anyone heard of building a simple module that outputs video based on c.v.? i know there are full analog video synths, but i'm looking for something basic that i would be able to add to my modular... even modulating static would be interesting.
having some kind of buffer to output a single RCA composite video out would be choice, but i'm guessing analog composite video is a lot more complicated then a simple waveform being sent, seeing as it needs to correspond to different colors etc? guessing i would need to generate insanely high frequencies ino rder to start to see anything.
seems a little too good to be true, somebody tell me it's not possible already so i can move on...!

I hate to be one of those people who tells you to go somewhere else but there is already a forum section for that Laughing http://electro-music.com/forum/forum-213.html Video synths! They basically do what you want to do Smile

aha - should have looked out for that. thanks - like i said, i've seen video synths in action, was just looking for a single generative module.
of course i was being way too naiive in assuming such simple things exists, haha. meanwhile, started looking into the video opamp manipulation... definitely so many possibilities with that, especially co-ordinating signals from audio-based CVs. composite video is so pleasurably interesting to research... it's like audio's estranged twin; everything is somehow so similar, but bizarre differences in everything--- incredible

These guys make various eurorack-compatible video synthesis modules:
