Soundlab @ 12volts |
|
|
hello all,
i recently change the power supply for my Soundlab+ from 9v to 12v. the higher voltage makes this bad boy sound really fat.
the only thing i am having trouble with now is the octave range. at 9v i could get a good 6 octave from it. at 12v i'm only getting 4.
anyone know if i should be looking at changing any resistor (or other component values) with the increased voltage? perhaps the 475ohm resistors in the 1v/oct section?
thanks for any help and advice.

Hi. When you say range do you mean the "in tune" range? i.e. 1V/oct range? Because I'd say 4 octaves is still pretty good if your using the mark I. Better than mine ended up doing once I switched to 12V.
If you mean actual frequency range than going up to 12V should actually expand it. I had to redo some resistors on mine because there was too much sub/ultrasonic area in my frequency pot. |

1v/oct is what i speak of. Yeah 4 octaves is good, and it works like a champ, just thought i'd throw out the question to see what others thought.
the filter sounds super fat, i did have to add a resistor to the cutoff pot lug that gets the negative voltage. after i changed it to 12 volt the cutoff knob had a lot of "dead space" in the couterclockwise position. once i put the res in the range tightened right up |
