Thanks for posting that link. If someone is remembered for a single contribution, designing the 555 timer is certainly a top-notch achievement.

Always sad when one of our ancestors die. The 555 certainly is the single IC which leads many us into this hobby/obsession. Perhaps this news should be posted elsewhere though? In the shmooze(?) section. It's a bit hidden here and I think others might want to know this. Thanks for posting.
