I really love the shit you do to make you're electric guitar drumset distortia-tion. Breaking the "instrument interface" is a fascination of mine. Just by using a different instrument to play other sounds, in and of itself creates new musical patterns.
Q: do you use midi triggers, or note detects on mics? |

DuraCell, that video is sensational!
Please copy and past this as a new topic on Online Music. I'm concerned that not enough people will see it tucked down in this Nord Modular forum.

Ah, now I see where your questions and remarks about triggers and patch load reduction etc. belong ... great !!
(and duracell makes sense as well :-)

they are piezo mics, that is they pick up the vibrations of whatever it is in contact with, so you'll still have an audio rate bipolar signal. they go straight into the nord inputs and then are processed into a yellow pulse that can be used as a reliable trigger, that can then do many things. |

Any chance you can post that video clip in a Mac-friendly format? Can't read WMVs (tried downloading some freeware, but doesn't seem to like it)

Mac? OS X? VLC should be able to play the file. _________________ A Charity Pantomime in aid of Paranoid Schizophrenics descended into chaos yesterday when someone shouted, "He's behind you!"

I've downloaded VLC, but it only plays the audio - apparently doesn't support the video format or something..... |

I have recently purchased a G2 Engine for use in techno, minimal and Drum&Bass production.
I have used reaktor for some years now. Now reaktor is a great tool but:
-Always requires a computer
-Runs on windows and that's scary in live situations
-Is much more complex than the G2 (Reaktor goes deeper into synthesis)
These are 3 of the main reasons i decided to get a G2. I'm still not totally convinced but the G2 gets my wishes done in a much shorter time than reaktor ever did.
My doubts still come from the amazing patches that are available for reaktor. Some people really do magic with it and this is something i see on a lesser level on the G2. I actually think Reaktor has the edge on sound in some occasions, but this could be me. |
