New 303 clone - Cyclone Analogic Bass Bot TT-303 |
 |
|
So i've been following this for a few weeks now.
Pretty much just a SMD 303, priced similar to a xoxbox.
The firmware seems pretty capable, 64 step paterns out the box, copy pasting, arpegio, midi i/o, battery power. Best of all it emulates a real 303 beautifully.
What does everyone think?
I'm picking one of these up at the end of the week.
Monophonic selectable (saw, square) VCO with 24db 4 pole analogue filter.
•User or Bot generated programmable patterns with InstaDJ™ sequencer.
•MIDI IN by default / MIDI IN and OUT (with provided splitter cable).
•13 Colour LED display with user definable console and individual pattern labeling.
•Auto Tune and VCO calibration on demand.
•Arpeggiator.
•Generate new patterns using one of seven unique personality algorithms.
•Mutate Patterns to create infinitely complex pattern structure and variation.
•Live Pitch Transpose (+/- 1/2 step pitch), Live Accent (velocity) & Live Slide (portamento).
•Pattern Rotation (left or right) one step in time.
•Complex file manipulation of pattern banks using Copy & Paste.
•Merge up to 8 patterns to one pattern (maximum 64 steps).
•Portable with battery or ac

The manual also makes reference to a "Drum Drone TT-606"
I'd love to see what price they intend to ask for a 606 clone given they're somewhat cheap.
Let the complaining that it doesn't sound exactly like a TB-303 begin. Last edited by am4d on Tue Nov 27, 2012 8:48 am; edited 1 time in total |

This looks very interesting- not sure how close it its to a 303- I'd be happy as long as its somewhere near. Still think its pricy for what it is- but compared to a 303 it's actually affordable (not to mention more versatile)
It's good that this and the xoxbox etc are affordable and will allow people to finally make grooves with hardware that is akin to the vintage and (IMO) way over priced gear. If this and the 606 clone take off I wonder if the Roland originals will drop in price also how will Roland feel (maybe they won't care) but this is a market they could have had sewn up years ago!
Will we see a clone of the 707 & 727 maybe an 808 and 909 from the same company.... |

Does anyone else think it's weird that they left out Din Sync?
A cheap 606 clone sounds rad! _________________ DRONEGOAT |
