Well, for versions of "silk screened" which include using labels on an inkjet... Smile

Since it was a build for someone else, i wanted it to look a bit professional. I really enjoyed playing with it, but it's on its way now. I will probably build the SL+ from the stripboard version I've seen around here, at some point.

Gonna try to build a SLMS+ in a cigar box. I think the big challenge will be that the particular box that has enough panel space is also short, so vertical space is going to be a challenge. I am going to have to take a different approach than usual to my wiring, I think....

Make sure you use finer wire. Shocked
I know this sounds obvious, but can be overlooked when space is at a premium.
I've found that some old printer cables (D25->Centronix (op-shop)) have nice fine easily soldered wires, which still have 7 or so strands each. A small bit of heatshrink where they meet the board/component will insure against problems later, looks good, and doesn't really take much more time. Wink

Would you say that was finer than 24 AWG? I don't have any strippers that go finer than that. I could definitely see my usual 22 AWG being a problem though, so good point, and one I hadn't really thought about. I *had* been thinking about ribbon cable though....

Yeah, ribbon cable would be my next choice.
Get the rainbow coloured one to help trace things out though.
A mass of grey wire can be hell to troubleshoot.

Yep, definitely rainbow ribbon cable. I just need to make a count of the number of necessary connections, and my small ribbon cable experience so far shows that I have some difficulty with initial cuts without damaging wires....

Approaching the end of the second build in the cigar box....

I've got the box prepped, boards soldered and stuffed, power connections made and tested.... The ribbon cable (and a handful more that aren't worth really doing ribbon cable for) is all that really remains.
